The NC 9.405 in "Self" mode runs quite allright, when it comes to speed on this XL 32MB, but allthough the map wich has ALG works, there's no option in the menu to turn it on or off. It also has the issue that when I get in the "statusbar-menu", the message "you have selected more options then can fit on the status bar." appears. When 1 of the three crosses is removed, the menu can be closed with "OK", but next time the menu is entered the message is back.

So I now consider using the 8.412 SE, wich has proven itself on my 32MB ONE v1 very well and is fast, good looking and stable. The major drawback might be going down a step on the ladder regarding latest maps.

Back with the results and back to the beginning.

Using 8.412 was fast on this device (XL v9 32MB) but going back to mapversion 885, is out of the question since the main reason I am updating this TomTom is because of a major road change finished here a few months ago.
So 9.430 SE is back on the device, with map Europe_South 895.4438 and he has to live with the delaying when typing a cityname.
I noticed that the Benelux-map 890.4222 wich also covers the Netherlands is having much less delays, but then this "upgrade" would turn out a downgrade since he had already Europe_South on his device and he uses it also for trips to Spain in the summer.

If my TT Model Specs sheets are corrrect, the XL v9 doesn't have a mike. If this is the case, you might try removing the cspeech file/files & tweak the Switchfiles to reduce the delay a bit.

Indeed, this one doesn't have a mic. I don't have the device here anymore, but I will try this option in the future.
I just thought (too late) of another possibility, wich would be putting BOTH BeNeLux and Europa_South on the internal memory. 200MB(benelux) + 1450MB(EUsouth) + 58MB(NC9) would still fit on the internal 2GB.
He could then use the small and faster Benelux for daily use and switch to EU_South during the holidays.

By the way, he was happy with his upgraded device and found the delay only minor issue!

NO. This is the 9.430 thread. The values in post 1 remain the same.
The 9.465 values are included in the Navcore Version 9.465 thread.

SE 9.430.rar link not working

My dad went and updated his TomTom GO 720 to navcore 9.430 using TT Home.. and now none of the maps can be used. And now of course it's up to me to fix the thing.

I've tried FastActivate Premium, activating both navcore and maps. When patching the navcore, I get the message it has already been patched. Unfortunately when selecting the map, it still can't be used. Downloaded latest version of the map, same thing even with the auto-installer.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Welcome to Navitotal.

1. He needs to update again. Current 720 navcore is 9.465!!
2. Not a problem. Confirm that the previous navcore before 9.430 was patched. If so, then your only problem is 9.430 is not patched.
3. Maps are device specific. Once they are patched, they never need repatching as long as they stay with that device. Every new navcore must be patched. Copy FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 05.10.2012 into the same place in the 720, where the ttsystem file is located, & patch the navcore only. Disconnect and reboot.
