Navcore with a small memory footprint

Postby v3rv3 » Tue Jul 30, 2013 8:06 pm

Thanks for your quick answer. :-)
I was asking because since I've updated to Western Europe 910.4973 my device is now running VERY slow and reboot when I try to enter a postcode to go somewhere...

More details about this issue here:

What about best / light NavCore 9 prepatched and 32Mo old devices friendly?

Tested 9.170 (quite fast, gives me only 8.0 FREE RAM and was working great until latest map update WE 910_4973)
Tested 9.401_Downunder_Fan_Edition (gives me only from 3.1 to 5.6 Mo FREE RAM)
Tested Navcore 9.430 for most models (for GO) (quite fast and but gives me only from 3.1 to 5.8 Mo FREE RAM)
Tested Navcore 9.485 for most devices by DownUnder35m but only gives me from 4.0 to 4.8 Mo FREE RAM!

Do you have a link for your 9.170?

I think you don't quite understand how your TT works.
It does not matter how many Navcores you try if you don't install them properly.
If you check my Navcore threads you'll notice there are quite a few good working V9 Navcores.
Other get them working on the oldest TT's available, so forgive me if I can't really understand your problem here...

Then how do they work? If I erase the TT, extract the navcore to the device, unplug from PC, then attempt to start the TomTom and it does not go past the start-up screen, what else do you suggest?

We are running around in circles here.
You wanted a Navcore with a small footprint,
after that something that suits your device,
now you say you can't even install the Navcore through Home.

So I return the question: What do you suggest (I should make out of it) ?

I didn't say I cant install the navcore through Home. I don't use Home to install a navcore. What I said was that after the navcore was installed, Home gives error messages to install updates thereafter, as per post #17.

I'm after a v9 navcore with a small data footprint that WORKS - very simple request. If you can't help, not a problem. I appreciate any assistance forthcoming.

I've exactly the same request... I'm looking for a lighter v9 Navcore pre-crk (SE) working with old devices (TomTom Go <32 Mo) that can allow me to use latest maps with ALG and don't mind a bunch of POIs (radars alerts) showing on maps. :-)

I wish I can have a bit lighter pre-crk Navcore 9.530 SE that will run on my old device because this is the best looking NavCore released so far!

Tested 9.170 (quite fast, gives me only 8.0 FREE RAM and was working great until latest map update WE 910_4973)
Tested 9.401_Downunder_Fan_Edition (gives me only from 3.1 to 5.6 Mo FREE RAM)

You appear to have more luck that me. Although the navcore and maps fit and have 3-5MB spare, it crashes.

However, it MAY be the case that the device is buggered, but I do have 7-8 devices to try and similar results do occur.

What are the first two digits of your serial number?
(check the sticker)

So far you did not tell us what NC and emulation you tried.
Check my installers for the Memory Boost versions.

And already said the smallest V9 is the Rider Navcore...

1. You keep referring to a "lighter" navcore, whatever that means. ALL of Downunder's navcores are designed for your needs, except the poi issue. Too many pois will even bog down 64MB units.
2. Navcore 9.530 is actually 9.510 with Asian support.
3. All SE versions are defaulted to X40 emu. I suspect that is what you are seeing.
4. Since it is quite fast, why do you think you need more Free Ram?

Serial begins with M5

I've put on post #17 what navcores I have tried
