Navcore 9.xxx for Go 700

Postby chrispbaker83 » Sun Oct 06, 2013 7:22 pm

Hi there,

Firstly I would just like to say that I love this forum! The tutorials are spot on so I haven't had to post a thread yet.

I have been messing with my old Go 700 for a few months now and have varied success. Currently it is running Navcore 9.430 with the newest 915 maps, no system lag or reboots. I tried to update to 9.510 but it kept rebooting after 3 minutes of use. Anyone know why that would be?

Also, I have been thinking of upgrading the internal memory to an 8GB compact flash card but I can't find a tutorial for opening the sucker up or if the CF card will just replace the ST1 hard drive in there without a fuss.

Cheers guys

1. Stick with 9.430. You wouldn't see any difference going to 9.510.

2. Downunder is our expert on this subject.

Just to follow up on this - it is possible to directly replace the 2.5GB ST1 HDD in the GO700 with a Compact Flash (CF) card. I used an 8GB SanDisk Extreme. You might be able to use larger cards, I never tried.

My old GO 700 has now died so no further testing is possible.
