Hi Guys,
I have been looking, searching and googling but cannot find a compatability chart showing my tom tom.
I have a 1GB Tom Tom XL 30 running 8.014 but I need to upgrade the navcore so I can upgrade my maps. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Please use "Get my Config" from my signature and post the results here.

Hey, I found your navcore updater and managed to get it to 9.510 :D
The TT only has a 1GB internal memory though so the 2GB western europe maps wont fit :(
This is the config
GetMy-CFG v2.53
===============
DeviceID=XXXXXXXXXXXXX
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
TTSystem 8212461 bytes, modified 04/04/2013 16:26
PNDNavigator 4699816 bytes, modified 13/06/2008 15:41
BootLoaderVersion=55019
RDS/TMC 'mctx.dat' size 212 bytes
CurrentMap=Western_Europe_1GB
CurrentMapVersion=825.2159
NederlandPostalVersion=Version915
GreatBritainPostalVersion=Version915
# - - - - - End - - - - - #
I really only want UK and France maps, but not sure how I can just select the two areas...

unless, can I download the 2gb version and then use TT Home to select the maps / voices etc?

No, it's all or nothing. Alas!
You can't use the maps with more details and features.
If you are not willing to choose a small map, you will have to choose a Europe_1GB map.
They are not that bad but at this point you probably will have to take a v910 map because the v915 ones do not have a meta code yet. But check yourself on that matter.

Hi Guys,
I installed the UK maps using the link above, but when I start my sat nav I get an error:
"Cannot use this map with this device"
Any ideas?

Did you patch the navcore?
Sat Sep 07, 2013 10:38 am
I downloaded the navcore from Downunder - which should patch it, but I downloaded FastActivate too, ran that and it says "Your Navcore have been Patched already."
So yup :(

I just noticed when the TT started it gave me the option to choose my map, (Either UK Or France) but when I select France it said "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: France-781"
I then selected UK and it says: "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-817"
Does the 817 / 781 on the file name ends mean anything?

Can you confirm the existence in both map folders of a .meta.dct file?
If not they are not patched.
Disregard the 781/817 numbers.

Thanks so much for your help so far, I'm so lost with this! but learning lots
I've checked and the TomTom is my G: so
g:\France_910_4892 contains:
France-781.meta
France-781.meta.dct
g:\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-817 contains
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-817.meta
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-817.meta.dct

any ideas?
Sun Sep 08, 2013 10:36 am
Why do you need ideas?
If there is a .DCT file for the map than the map is ready to go and your Navcore not patched...

Could you post the updated and censored the Get My Config again?
As he already stated, the NC is patched already.
