Newbie with GO910...mods?

Wed Jul 06, 2011 3:12 pm

I would like to mod my 910 but I am not sure which navcore I should use. This will be my first try modding the 910 and any help will be appreciated so I don't turn my 910 into a brick.

What does N9.205 have over the standard N7.893? Will I lose or gain new features with the new mod? What other mods do you recommend after upgrading to N9?

Second question, can I have seen replacements for the internal HD with an SD card slot (like those on the 510 or 710). Will I be able to use a 32 G SDHC or will it require a newer boot loader?

1. IQ Routes, ALG and other goodies - including ability to run W&CE 870-3406 with CSpeech.. for voice input/control (7.9 has IR remote, 9.205 does not).

2. B/L 5529

I run my 910 wirh W&CE 870-3406, Navcore 9.051.503855.2, OS 483784 and B/L 5.5229. Worked OK with 9.020 and 9.026.

Thank you for your help.

Is there any way to upgrade AND keep the Remote?

Nope, the remote only works with the original Navcore afaik.
But any device with a mic can use voice commands.

oreos asked "Is there any way to upgrade AND keep the Remote? ". I've kept mine, but it's not a good paperweight. Voice commands are easier when driving.

I would suggest that you try 9.051 for your 910
