3. Put all of these in the map folder, not in the root. The .bmp & .ogg must have the same name. example: splash.bmp & splash.ogg
4. See point 5.
5. Delete all of the chk.dct files in the voices folder, then the voices SHOULD work.
8. I gotta do a bit of research on this one.

2. "emulation is set for a GO X30 menu" ? meaning ?
3. renaming bmp's & ogg's to be identical, AND putting them in the map-folder did NOT work. Nothing was visible/audible at all anymore....
Mind you: i copied things the way they were from my previous setup (prior to update) in which all wokred well
and with this navcore at least the bmp's (startscreen & shutdownscreen) were visible. Only problem were the ogg's (start&end) which were not audible...
When i put the files back in the root at least the start & end screens were visible again (still no audio)
So it has to be something else...
4 & 5. I have removed all but two voices that worked (also all their files ofcourse). After that i manually added one backed up voice that i want to use and i edited the *.vif file with notepad to become similar to the vif-files of the other two voices and this worked.
8. additional info about the card/map-colours: i ONLY see grayscaled coloring, no actual colours at all in both the day & night setting, regardless of any colorscheme i choose in the setup/preferences menu.

Daytime & Nightime settings as i see them for any chosen colorsetting...

3 ) Start-up and shut-down sounds are not supported any more in the latest navcores like the 9.510.

5) That the voices didn't show in your menu has something to do with your country-settings. You only see the voices in your chosen language (English, Dutch)By changing the .vif file you changed the country-settings of that voice. That way they show up in your menu now. Why they sometimes don"t work, well, problebly one off your voices is not compatible/rotten. When you choose that voice, every sound stops. Put them in one by one and check which one doesn't work.

Expected something like that (no more start/shutdown-sounds).
Too bad, but i'll live ;)

What puzzles me though is the b&w colours of the cards...
Any idea ?

Obviously mixed voices are possible.
Maybe it's because i edited the *.vif files to be conform standard specs as described [Please Register or Login to download file]
These voices are installed on my TomTom now, working and multilangual too...

About the colourschemes, probebly something in the navcore. Maybe you can try some homemade colourschemes and see if the have the same effect. I'm on the road now, so I can't send you any. Maybe this evening, if you still need them.

The map display remains grey until you get a satellite lock.

Where did you get these 2 pieces of misinformation??
Start-up & shut-down sounds are fully functional on a X20 with 9.510.

All installed voices work perfectly fine, but i'm sorry to say:
No startup & shutdown sounds in any of the chosen emulations (x20,x30,x40,x50) with this Navcore...
:022:
EDIT:
Weird...
After changing skins & rebooting a few times it started to work all of a sudden...
Rebooted several times before, but no go...
Ah well it seems to work now
:023:

Brings me to another issue:
Installed the latest Speedcams -premium+normali in my map-folder.
I see no setting in main or any submenu for speedcams...
Is there a way to resolve this ?

About the Shut-down sound, you're right. It works in nc 9.510 as an .ogg file 22050Hz mono.

About the voice, the .vif file contains information about the voice.

the second digit: ?
The thirt digit: Countrycode

104 - Sweden
105 - Finland

etc,etc

When you choose a voice, first you can only choose between voices in your own language. You can't see foreign voices in your menu. When you change the countrycode in your .vif file to your country-code, you're gonna see this voices in he menu. And of course when you choose for all languages, you see every voice on your device. And at the end, they will all work

Already referred to this a few posts ago myself.
Looks like this:
Line 1 – Name (old style, may be left empty for newest software)
Line 2 – Filename of the corresponding .chk file
Line 3 – Name
Line 4 – Number representing gender
Line 5 – Number representing language
Line 6 – Number representing flag
Line 7 – Version number

That's not how it works appearently, because:
1. i could see ALL voices regardless form whichever country they were designated
2. some of them didn't work which caused an overall missfunction of all audio until chosing a working voice & after reboot
2. in ALL vif-files i put their correct codes. Only thing i did is added the missing info, the people who made the vif-files were kinda sloppy...

1. I'm with you on this one!! FYI, neither the vif nor the tlv files are needed for a voice to function. A bmp file & a chk file are the only required files.

2. Firstly, you don't load both the normal & Premium files. It's either/or, not both. If both are loaded, the Premium file becomse the default cams. If your unit is still set to the X30 emu (25 still being the first number in the reskin file}, go to Main Menu, page 3 & click on TomTom Services to set up the speed cams.

I have chosen all available Emu's, which are X20, X40, X30, X50 (no X25 emu),
but i don't see any TomTom Services in any of the menu's of any of the emu's
(neither main nor sub) :017:

Does that mean i need another navcore ?
And what is the difference between normal & premium ?

1. It's not X25. It's just plain 25. See your qoute above from your post 14.
2. Do a screenshot of Main Menu pages 1 thru 3. I know what is on page 4.
3. Depends on point 2.
4. Normal = fixed cams. Premium = fixed & mobile cams.

1. I see no "25" in skin-chooser, i only see X20, X40, X30, X50
2. see below
3. i guess i need another navcore then, question which one...
4. It's a total package which contains both, what i installed, but i figure since premium becomes default it doesn't really matter (?)

My Main Menu: (in Dutch but i figure language doesn't matter)

1. It's not in the skin-chooser, it's in the skin folder, reskin file.
2. Notice you have a HELP option on pages 1 & 3. Also 2 Map corrections options on page 2. These dups are causing you to lose 2 options.
3. Change the reskin file to read:
SELF;25;25;25-GO x30;37-GO x50;37-GO x50;18-GO x20;24-GO x40
Any help??
