You need to spend more time reading here...
There are ways of testing and installing Navcore and to me it looks like you simply copy the files on the TT and if no luck next round - does not work this way.

Well for a first timer I think I've learned quite a bit and I have got it working now. The only thing that's left is the TTS. LoquendoTTS only works well with 64mb devices so I would need VocalizerTTS which apparently has been taken down not only from here but from other sites as well so I would like to know what else I can do. And yes I do read the forum but that doesn't mean I'll always find exactly what I'm looking for unless I go through every single thread and search through every single post which could potentially take years. Lol :) But I'll try searching around for a bit. Thanks anyways for what you've helped me with to this point!

- not true as this problem was my main reason to provide the lates V9 Navcore with Memory Boost
The Loquendo voices can be dowloaded directly from the TT servers, and hey are linked in the voice section too
And I highly doubt that TT has taken them offline

Hmm so I did what you said and got your 9.485 w/MB and HS. I'm using the same map and everything and I got the LoquendoTTS V7 US Susan from the voice section. I followed all the instruction for the LoquendoTTS. Everything works however the Susan voice is silent. The non-computer voices are working just fine. I've tried changing the emu but that doesn't make a difference. TTS is silent with the x30, x40, x50 and XL live emus. I stumbled upon this DSA tool that seemed to work for someone else but it looks to be for V9.450 navcores and earlier.

Did you add the voice after installing the Nacore?
If so re-install the Navcore again as otherwise the patch for the TTS is gone.
You can also install the Navcore to a folder on your PC and from there copy the LoquendoTTS folder on your device to overwrite the unpatched files.

Sorry by installing the navcore again, do you mean I should copy and paste the navcore cab contents into my device again and overwrite everything? And then patch using fastactivate again? Because I didn't use your navcore installer this time, I just copy and pasted your cab files.

I just tried your second option by taking the LoquendoTTS folder from the original downloaded cab for 9.485 and copying it to my device, overwriting as well, and the problem is still there. Do I need to fastactivate after doing this as well? EDIT: Using Fastactivate again doesn't work either.

My Navcores are already patched...
You said you used the version with Memory Boost and Hardwired sound?
Just to be clear:
Best way is to have the LoquendoTTS folder on the device and after that to overwrite the existing files with te Navcore.
Please check that again, in the meantime I will try to find an indepndent Loq patch.

1. Yes I am using the mb/hs version.
2. I just tried that and it doesn't work either. The same problem as before, there is just no sound when I press the TTS Susan voice.
3. Just to let you know, sometimes when I press test voice when the recorded voices are selected, they don't always make a sound. I have to go to the next recorded voice and press test to get the sound to work. However when I select the voice and use the navigator, it all works normally as it should, just doesn't sometimes when I press test. The computer voice however, nothing at all, not test nor when I use the GPS, no sound from that voice whatsoever. : /

Ok, with HS and the Navcore overwriting the already copied Loquendo Folder there should be no issue with the voice.
But I can remember that another user had similar problems on his XL a long time ago.
I think he ended up to only use recorded voices.
But as a last resort:
5597
Unpack the above to the root of your TT, confirm to overwrite existing files.
Check again if your voice works now.
If still no luck:
Download my fan edition,
unpack the fan edition to a folder on your PC,
from there copy the folders "voices" and "LoquendoTTS" to your TT - confirm to overwrite existing files,
start your TT and select the Kate TTS voice (as I know she is complete),
report back if your TT is still silent on TTS.
