I am also using a TomTom ONE XL and so far have gotten everything to work properly (including TTS). As it might help OP, I used:
 • 9.170 SE Navcore
 • 5.5136 Bootloader
 • United States 2GB 915.5074 map
 • Latest FastActivate

I am currently using the Serena (UK) computer voice. Is it possible for someone to link me the Samantha (US) TTS voice? On here or via PM? All the link I'm finding around the web seem borked. Thanks for your help lads.

Sure did, it's the first place I went. All the depositfiles links by tendriver are dead and wupload went bust. I resorted to searching 4 pages of Google search to no avail. Really would appreciate that US Samantha computer voice. My yankee ears don't comprehend Serena too well :o .

tendriver doesn't have any TTS voice threads in the Voices Section, just links to the threads that do.

Samantha is an old Vocalizer TTS voice.

Thanks for clearing that up. I used the Susan 6.9 LoquendoTTS on my old ONE XL and it works wonderfully with 3.6mb free RAM running the 9.170 SE Navcore. Thanks again for the help.

Hi I really need help and am really clueless about this. A friend of mine helped me patch my TomTom One XL a long time ago however today I decided to update my device via the tomtom home (stupid of me I know) since I'm going on a long trip in a few days. Once updated though when I start my device it says "Can't find any maps". I already tried to use the FastActivate but no luck. Can someone please tell me what to do now?

Here's my device info:

"ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
DeviceSerialNumber=L9xxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=55244
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8016
ApplicationVersion=9380

Best quick tip I can give you in this situation: Use FastActivate to patch the NavCore.

Later, you should return here to further your knowledge about your TT, NC's and maps.
If you do that I'm pretty sure that you will end up using Downunder's latest v9.501 installer which works like magic and will give you excellent service on your TT XL too.

First question. Why do you have a ttgo.bak & ttgo.ori file??
Next question. What is your actual installed navcore?

Hi,
I am in similar situation as Akhil who started this thread.
I would like to update my "TomTom XL 30 Series Black Edition 2 GB" to the latest version of compatible navcore and maps.

GetMy-CFG v2.53
===============
DeviceID=XXXXXXXX
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXXX
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8083
TTSystem 3172295 bytes, modified 17. 08. 2009 14:28
PNDNavigator 4906292 bytes, modified 17. 08. 2009 14:27
BootLoaderVersion=55259
RDS/TMC 'mctx.dat' size 44 bytes
CurrentMap=Europe_Central
CurrentMapVersion=860.3126
HelpFileVersion = 20090617
# - - - - - End - - - - - #

I successfully updated navcore to 9.025 which worked well with my old maps. Then I updated the maps to 915.5074 which should be compatible with this navcore, but it did not work. I used patch and FastActivate, so I did not get any error message, but when I did a click on the screen it took minute(s) till I saw any reaction.
I tried other navcores, but the same behaviour, so I downgraded it all back.
Where to find which latest compatible navcore and maps to use?
Thanks in advance!

An ONE XL will not run a 9.XXX navcore without issues, unless it has been modded. Downunder has posted several 9.XXX versions, that he has modded to run on the older 32MB units. Navcores 9 for TomTom Devices.
You obviously know where the maps are, since you downloaded a 915 Edition.
