A friend of mine has a tomtom go 300 and wanted me to update the maps and asked if a 4gb sd card would work... i know i once made a 4gb card work on my tomtom one 3rd edition, but i can't remember how and i wonder if the same can be done to the go 300... anybody knows and can tell me how?

ps: sorry if i put this in the wrong section... but i thought this was related to the navcore or at least, the thing needing to be done also makes me install newer navcores, as far as i know :p

All that is required is bootloader 5.5015 (or higher), which is in navcore 8.300.

oh right, the bootloader was the trick... which bootloader and navcore is the best for the go 300?

and can you please explain how to install it? cause it's been ages and i forgot how to do it... was it just placing the bootloader on sd and booting up the tomtom so it could install the bootloader?

Put the bootloader on a SD card less than 4GB, and boot up the tomtom so it can install the bootloader.

Don't worry about trying to find a navcore for the bootloader. Go here: Navcores 9 for TomTom Devices & take your pick.

Update your bootloader to 5.5112 or 5.5128 and check my installers in the Navcore section.

Keep it simple. Try the same version that you put on the GO 710.
