TomTom Go 910 latest firmware?

Postby kintekke » Sun May 29, 2016 10:42 am

I have an old TomTom Go 910 that i bought from e-bay years ago and i updated the maps but i then went on to give this device to my elderly father when i upgraded to a newer device ..He has never used it (To complicated ??lol)
Now i have it back i want to update the maps again as they are now well out of date ...Long winded i know but the firmware is 7.903 so what i need to know is what is the latest (Or best) firmware to use on this device as i want to put not only the uk maps but europe and would like all the features working ..ie alg etc
Is it possible to connect to tomtom to update the firmware or shall i get it from this site ?
Thanks
Kintekke

The version in post 2 is 140MB. The normal version is 42MB. I'm not trying to influence you either way. Just want you to be aware.

1. As does the normal 9.510 version.
2. Features like alg are a map function, not the navcore

The normal function of the 910 has indeed TTS. But the latest navcore for the 910 included TTS is in my opinion much more as 42MB.
The navcore I mentioned is unpacked appr 180MB (i agree much more as the original with TTS).
The alg is a map function but the navcore has to support it and i think that the navcore 7.903 not support this kind of maps (with alg) if I look to the comparison map. With all the functions (if supprted) you need a navcore higher then 7.903 i.e 9.0xx of higher. That was the reason that I used the 9.510 with nearly all the features.

Navcore size is not important in this case since the GO 910 has got a amazing storage capacity of 20 GB. So not only more than enough storage for a enlarged navcore but also room for all maps of the world.
I certainly would advise installing the 9.510 navcore.

Well, my reaction was directed more at tendrivers #4 post. The GO 910 won't choke on anything.

1. Correct.
2. Correct.
3. Correct
4. I have no problem with 9.510. You guys are reading way to much into post 2. It is very obvious that post 2 was only alerting kintekke to the size difference between the 2 versions. Nothing more & nothing less!!!

Well,it might confuse kintekke and it better be clear that the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
Might be different on a 0,5 or 1 GB TT One but a GO 910 is a different ball game. Well, nuff said.
