TomTom go720 navcores

Postby orgal » Tue May 07, 2013 6:53 pm

Just thought this might be of interest to someone...

I have a go720 and have tried 3 versions of the same navcore with it today.
The first official 9.465 navcore is installed on the tomtom the 2nd and 3rd were running from the sd card slot...

1st I tried official 9.465 with UK & Ireland 905.4754 and loquendo
gave me around 13-14mb free and everything working.
2nd I tried DSA 9.465 with UK & Ireland 905.4754 and loquendo
gave me around 20-24mb free and everything working.
3rd I tried SE 9.465 with UK & Ireland 905.4754 and loquendo
gave me 22-32mb free and everything working.

so think I will keep the se navcore running from the sd card slot...more free ram surely that means a smoother running tomtom?...If I am wrong on this let me know...

If it is right then think I will wait till an SE version of the 9.510 comes out before updating...cheers

I am using SE 9.465 X50 on a 720 internal, which gives you auto day/night, but no JUKEBOX. X40 gives you JUKEBOX, but no auto day/night.

Free ram is not a real issue with 64MB units. The effort to increase free ram in 32MB units was made so they can run the newer navcores.
13-14mb of free ram is more than enough for a smooth running 720. You will not gain anything with more free ram.

The only difference between your internal 9.465 & SE 9.465 on a card, is the ttsystem file. The internal version will have the old icons & the SE version set for X40 or X50 will have the new icons.
