Did you use FastActivate option 2 to patch the Europe Truck 950.6551 map?
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.

If the TT does not start at all it usually means the Navcore is not installed correctly or inclomplete.
Did you confirm the installer used the right drive letter and that you dod not create another folder on the TT for it?
Otherwise Tendrivers queston is a valid one...

I used option 2 on fast activate to patch the map.
I don't remember the installer asking to save to a folder.
I have the below folders is this correct ?
I installed nav core 9701.
looking at it now it looks like I have a folder for 9701. Is this wrong?

That should be ok.
Did you do a hard reset followed by the TT Clear Flash Tool?
Quite often this fixes starting problems as long as the Navcore is ok.

The existing currentmap.dat, currentposition.dat and/of mapsettings.dat could also cause problems.
First two can be deleted without any problem.
Third file (derived from within the old map folder) might contain favorites you want to keep.

Ok, for the Truck I suggst to use the 9.702 as it is the latest.
But in any case the version for the 32mb devices should be tested first, if there is no sound the version with Hardwired Sound for the XL.
Some work fine with the 32mb version some just won't - trial and error in this case.

Please define "Will not start".
Usually something happens on the screen...

When I press the power button nothing happens. Then if I plug in the use cable it connects to pc. If I use the 12v it just hangs on the tt start screen. I have a 64mb device.

Did you follow the procedures in the tutorial section?
Sounds to me like your battery is dead and that something went wrong wth the installation.

You're welcome!
Just keep this somewhere in the background of your mind:
Overwriting a Navcore can cause massive problems of all sorts.
But deleting all Navcore related files and only keeping the personal ones, like the folders for voices and your mapsettings.cfg will get you back where you left but with a new map and Navcore.
Some devices are a bit picky with the sound, especially certain XL variations and with the above you will avoid troubles.

Make a backup of the working setup using Windows Explorer - this way it is a matter of minutes to get back to a working state if something went wrong.

It is a mismatch of your hardware and the selected emulation, should be fixed by manually editing the resking file to a different emulation, like the one for the Go X30 Series.

Thanks for the reply.

I tried renaming the xl file in the reskin file to 43-XL as you mentioned in another post (which I found later) but that didn't work.
I have got it working by putting an older nc on then letting tt home update it. I then had a problem getting a map to work. Fastactivate thought it was already patched. so reformat then install plain nc from home then patch that etc..
Could I just copy the reskin file from the Go nc to the xl nc?

I copied the skins file from the go nc to the xl nc that didn't change anything. so I am back to the working version for now.
