Universal Navcore Installer

Universal Navcore Installer

Postby Downunder35m » Sat Sep 07, 2013 4:14 pm

To makes things a bit easier I created an installer that includes the following Navcore versions:
9.500 - The Rider Navcore with the new Rider5 skin.
9.510 - The current NC for all current TT models.
9.701 - The current Truck NC.
Although the download is a bit bigger than usual for a Navcore, the installer allows you to have all current Navcores at hand for easy installation and testing.
Once a newer Navcore is available the installer will be updated accordingly, same for more kernel modifications.

About
There have been new developments by users for the TT kernels, credits here go to keessie74 & novizio as well one user that supplied the infos needed for the new Rider skin.
The new kernel allows the automatic power on feature for all TT models and a fix for the X10 docking system so the TT won't restart or do other unexpected things when docking in the car.

Included versions:
9.500 (Rider) - with the new Rider5 skin for 64 and 32mb devices
9.510 - for all GO, 64mb, 32mb, XL and X10 models
9.701 (Truck) - for all GO, 64mb, 32mb, XL and X10 models

Included features/fixes:
TMC fix for all wired receivers
Loquendo engine patched for devices that have no computer voices with the original Navcore
GPS quick included for the use with a connected phone
Devices with a SIRF chipset can use the updater in the folder "ephem" instead of Home
Emulation can be selected on the last menu page using the Skin Chooser
Some minor things

Things to know:
1. It is recommended to do a full backup using the Windows Explorer first!
2. Check if you really did the backup and if hidden and system files are selected to be visible.
3. It is recommended to install on an empty device, first the Navcore, than the map, after that your personal files.
4. In case your device does not support LoquendoTTS voices (computer voices) by default, follow this procedure:
4a: Download the computer voice of your choice and unpack the CAB file to your empty TT/SD.
4b: continue with step 5 ;)

5. From your backup copy the file ttgo.bif to the root of your TT/SD card. - Don't miss this step as otherwise you need to start your TT before you activate the map!
6. Start the installer, read and check the provided infos and instructions within the installer carefully!
7. Select the Navcore and version for your needs on the left, again, check the provided infos!
8. Click on Install and select the drive letter of your TT/SD card - do not enter any paths as they will be created for you.
9. When done exit the installer.
10. Unpack the map of your choice to the TT/SD card.
11. Although mentioned in many threads: Make sure there is a meta code for your map available, without it the map can't be activated!
12. Using the latest!! version of FastActivate activate your map, the Navcore is patched and does not require any further "treatment" !
13. Enjoy!

Troubleshooting:
A: There is no Skin Chooser and the emulation is not correct
Open the file "reskin" on the folder "skins" with Notepad++
Edit the first entry so it show the emulation you want to use.
B: The computer voice does not work
Make sure that you installed the Navcore after the voice, if in doubt run the installer again.
If not already used try the XL version of the Navcore.
C: The device start with the ignition but does not turn off automatically
Check the battery saving preferences ;)
D: Map features like Lane images are not working
That is not my problem and not related to the Navcore ;)

You are doing all ok, it is just that Filefactory at the moment is on the limits for free users.
There are already a lot of download for the two files, so it works.
I know it is annoying at times, but if in daoubt use Jdownloader and maybe a capture solver like Caputer Brotherhood to get to the files.
And if any of the lots of users already using the files would provide a mirror a lot of users would say "thanks" ;)

Hi Downunder35m

Installer for x10 devices works - everything working except the computer voices, I have done everything in the instructions but all to no avail, i.e. installed Kate_EnglishGB.cab to an empty device TT910 copied the ttbif.go then installed 9.510 for x10 but there is no computer voice recognised. Kate file was downloaded from the Voices section of this site. Voices working with your 9.510 Auto-Startup Navcore - but had problems you know about with that

Kind regards

That is strange...
But if the voice worked with a different NC:
Use the LoquendoTTS folder from that setup and overwrite the existing one with it.
Do you have Kate in the voise selection and is the voice greyed out or is all godd in the menu bit the voice stays silent?
I really start to hate X10 devices ;)

Kate is NOT in the voice selection. Will try your suggestion with the LoquendoTTS folder from that setup and overwrite the existing one.
Will try that tonight as going to granddaughters 2nd birthday party now.
Will update you on the results later.

Kind regards

If in doubt you can also use one of my fullbackups as Kate is included.
Copy over the voices and LoquendoTTS folders, the files are already patched.

Copied the LoquendoTTS folder from the 9.510 Auto-Startup Navcore backup and the voice folder and everything is working. Will give you an update after I have used it on the road trip holiday.

Kind regards

That's why we always "force" users to consider a full backup of the working system.
If there is any problem after a new install there is always something to fall back to.
Should work just fine on the road ;)
