1. The "splash.ogg" and "suspend.ogg" do not have to be in the sound folder. Mine are in the root of the internal. Do you have "splash.bmp" and "suspend.bmp" files to go with the .ogg files.
2. Some emus don't play these sounds. Examples: X20 or X30: NO X40 or X50: YES!!

So, dear tendriver, you are stating that these sound files should work with a navcore from the universal installer?

I tried a bunch of times but have not succeeded in getting the desired audio output.
Not with above mentioned Downunder-derived navore.

As I stated before, I did succeed in getting audio output when using SE navcore version.

I can get the start-up and shut-down sounds to work if I choose X40 or X50......But then the voices don't work.
Yes I do have "splash.bmp" and "suspend.bmp" files to go with the .ogg

Please describe "But then the voices don't work". What voice/voices are you using?
No problem on my unit with Loquendo Dave.
Confirm that all setting in Change Preferences are correct.
If the computer voice does not work, then make sure that you installed the Navcore after the voice, if in doubt run the installer again.
If not already used try the XL version of the Navcore.

Tim,Jane or any of the default voices, Loquendo Susan or Simon also fail to work when I select X40 and X50....They do work when I choose ONE Emu <34>
But then the start-up and shut-down sounds fail to work.
Could you upload a back-up of your TomTom One....So I can install it ?

Thanks for the help.

I would be happy to, but it is just a stock copy of Downnunder's 9.510 mod. I don't see how it would do you any good.

Okay....Cheers......I'll start again my TomTom is a 4N00.012 = TomTom V4 or TomTom LE or TomTom New Edition....(Does that change things ?)
Could you recommend a Navcore that will give me the Computer Voice option and also work with the Start-Up and Shut-Down sounds.

Sorry for being a pain....Thanks.

I just checked the current link and found it to be working normally. What problem are you having with it?

TomTom ONE XL model 4S00.000 - can this unit also be updated by this installer?
Somewhat confused by TomTom's re-use of the 'XL' designation for later models.

Re: Universal Navcore Installer

Postby pollywall1 » Sat Oct 11, 2014 4:18 pm

I just used downunders universal navcore installer ( very impressive ) to install truck navcore 9.701 on a go 500 ( 32MB RAM version ) .
ttgo.bif was installed previous to the navcore installation on to an empty memory card
I then installed Europe Truck 937.5945.
The map was patched using the latest fastactivate
Everthing was done as per imformation given in downunders post.
The tomtom goes to the legal notice ( I agree )then voice not available , then none of the voices can be used with the current language.
If I continue from none of the voices , I can go to next screen but if I stay on none of the voices screen will reboot to legal notice.
Eventually on any screen will reboot to legal notice .
I know that I need to add voices with the loquendo folder and have actually done this on a previous install process but tomtom continually reboots.
The map actually works and I have planned and viewed route demo with sound but will reboot.
Any ideas what is happening ?
