Wanted! Stable Navcore for Go 920 with EPT working

Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:34 pm

Recently I updated my Tomtom 920 with a nice v9 Navcore and was very happy that everything seemed to work fine... Until I entered a tunnel... EPT did not seem to work but now my question. Can I add the files manually so that it will work in any Navcore? Which files are responsible for the gyrometer and accelerometer to work? Do I have to use the old v8 Navcore? Does anyone know what is the latest Navcore with EPT working?
Of course I would like all possible working...

Any help much appreciated!

The GO 9XX series is the only series with EPT. If you updated with a nice v9 Navcore from TT Home (9.430 is current), you should have EPT.

My original Navcore was 8.351 and EPT was, of course, working. Even on my card with trucksoftware 8.398 it is surprisingly working. I have just went back to 8.351 so it should work again but would have liked to go to an v9 because of some extra availabilities on the maps like the housenumbers however the EPT is really good when that works and I wouldn't want to miss it!
I don't like the Navcore that Tomtom home wants to give me. I also use a TMC and I don't know if that is still supported on latest Navcore.

Thanks for your reply anyway but unfortunately I don't want the 9.430

Have you actually let TT Home install 9.430? As I stated in post 2 EPT is a device function, not a navcore function.

I am doing that now, it lets me go through the whole history of applications...
My idea was that it has the old menu still but I will find out soon...

This is not an issue.

Yes 9.430 has this old fashioned menu style that I don't like.
So back to my first question. Which Navcore v9 has most of the options like EPT and TTS, mediaplayer etc. working for a Tomtom 920?
If anyone can give me a right version-number than my next question:
Should I download an original navcore and use a tool like Fastactivate or rather install a custom Navcore?

Again; thanks in advance

1. I told you that this isn't an issue.
Download this pre-patched 9.430 ttsystem file & model.txt. http://www.2shared.com/file/_bp-1ufn..._ttsystem.html Copy both files into your unit overwriting the current 9.430 ttsystem file. reboot
2. Neither EPT or TTS is a navcore function.
3. 9.430.
4. Neither.

That was a magic advice! I have now the latest Navcore 9.430 with the modern menus! I already have the TTS working and changed the model.txt to X40 so now my media player is also back.
I can't wait to drive under a tunnel...

BUT; I have three TMC-receivers here but none seems to connect while I thought that only the traffic receivers were not supported anymore... Am I doing something wrong? Should it work?

Thanks a lot!

1. Amazing isn't it!!!
2. You gained media player, but lost Auto day/night.
3. Fixing TMC reception with NC 9.4xx

In my case there was no traffic bar so your link suggested I could have another problem but with nothing to loose I did everything but with no result. Still no traffic bar.
To exclude other problems I copied the internal memory to my computer and put in my Truck-SD card and at least the traffic bar showed up within seconds so is it just that TMC is not supported or can there be another solution? It's clearly not my Tomtom and not my TMC that have a problem... Any suggestions?

Again, thanks in advance!

Is one of your 3 TMC-receivers the charger type?

Sun Apr 29, 2012 11:37 pm

No, it's the 4V00.013, the one that goes in between the line-out and the mini-usb...

Sun Apr 29, 2012 11:51 pm

Well, the following happens. If I change the model.txt to X20 it works again but it leaves me with the old fashioned menu style... X30 includes TMC-support as well but still old fashioned style menu... X40light supports it as well... Well, let's try X40 again then...

Do a test by dropping the model.txt down to X30.
