Do a 30 second "hard reset".

unfortunately that problem keeps happening, I wonder if you have any advice to give me, I'd really like to flash the truck navcore.
And because of this issue I'm worried I might not able to give you all the information that you requested me.

1. YES!! I asked you several times to provide info needed to begin helping you. You declined to do so. I gave you the first step fix to begin the recovery process. You said that it wasn't needed. Next you take a 2 month vacation. My advice to you: Don't ask for help, if you are not willing to accept & employ it.
2. Here is an offer for you: I'll give you as much help as you give me!!!

I'm awfully sorry, I misunderstood your last post. I didn't actually understand that that step was needed for the recovery process. Thanks for being so patient. Eventually I flashed the 9.702 truck navcore and it's working great so far.

Thanx for the update.

and by the way, now it's working even better than my old 8.544 navcore, it's faster, at least 10Mb of RAM available, faster GPS fix, faster everything basically.
However I must add that I didn't flash the official 9.702 truck navcore issued directly from TomTom, I found this modified version that claims to be tailor-made for devices with 32Mb.
It probably is, since the old 8.544 navcore was genuine, and it didn't perform very well.

However I'm not happy with TomTom policy, whilst with the 8.544, which is 5 years old, I could still download the latest maps, with the 9.702 truck navcore is totally different, right now the latest truck maps only support the truck navcores up to 9.701, which is only one year old.
I wonder if this means having to flash the navcore every two years.

1. As it should be!!
2. it isn't a claim, it is a true fact
3. The current official navcore for a GO Classic is 7.903. You can still download & use several 935.XXXX maps with it.
4. Maps don't support navcores!! Navcores support maps!! up to 9.701, which is only one year old & 9.702, which is only 2 months old.[/b]
5. It is called keeping up with technology!! I don't see any problem with changing navcores, since it takes less than 5 minutes.

thanks for your help, I've now been using the tomtom for a while and I quite like it, however there is this little thing that I miss most about my old navcore 8.544, and it's the fact that it showed my speed and the maximum speed, on the bottom.
However with this 9.702 truck navcore I don't get the speed, neither the maximum speed.
Are you aware of any trick to add it ?

1. If you have 2 blue panels at the bottom of the nav screen, go Main Menu, Change preferences, Show on the status bar, check mark Speed, Done, check mark Maximum speed, Done.
2. If you have 3 blue panels at the bottom of the nav screen, go Main Menu, Change preferences, Show on the status bar, check mark Maximum speed, Done. Speed is a permanent display in the left panel.
