I have a TT Start XC5020 with Benelux map of 2010.
The App is version 9.057.
TT says it is too old to update.
Can I get a newer version App? How and where?
Is it possible to install newer cards on it? I have a version of 2013 and 2018.
But when I use Fast Activate it says: You cannot use this map on this nav. system : Benelux 788

I don't recognise that model name...have a look at this link and report back:

Also, can you see the contents of the device in Windows Explorer if you plug it into your PC?

Its full SN = XC5020g02966. On the TT site XC.xxxx cannot be found.
It is called Start, Model 1EX00, N14644, Partnr. 4EX0.001,01, Canada 310.
It has a working map from 2010.
It also says: System AKXHW A2G8A, operating system 541764 (1028, 11-8-2010)

I can look in the memory and delete and change whatever I want. No problem at all. I restored the original map, and then everything works fine, but very oldie map.

When I run Fastactivate, the old map does not work any more. And the new one neither.....

So the question is: How can put some newer map and SW in it? It has 1 GB memory.

What is the best to try?

First do a full backup by setting Windows Explorer to show all hidden files & folders, then copy ALL of the contents of the device to a safe place.

Then download Benelux 1005.8819 and the latest version of FastActivate

Remove the old map folder and then extract both new map and FastActivate to the root of your device. Run FastActivate from there and select options 2 then 3 (waiting for successful messages each time). Disconnect device from PC and test.

Assuming all is ok, you can download and install the latest postcodes and speedcams...job done

It should be possible to upgrade the navcore but we still need to properly identify your device first, so run FastActivate again and select option 8 and post the results here.

Ok, it's a TomTom Start - 1GB Regional version with either 32 or 64MB of RAM

Btw, the above looks like you've got the Benelux map folder in another folder....the map should be in it's own folder which is in the root of the device (not a folder within folder)
