Help Needed with Navman S80, no USB connection

Postby snake.eyes » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:54 am

First a thanks to all who have posted information here.

I've been using my S80 with Igo 8.3 for about a year now after using a friends log in to get the details but understandably he doesn't want to be associated with this.
I've just updated to Q2 2012 maps and the navigation is OK but I must have inadvertantly deleted one of the important files because when I connect to USB the device continually reboots about 8 seconds after establishing the USB connection. I've tried different USB ports and even differnt computers.

Does anybody have any clues ? Will I be able to upload the files from the SD card ?

Thanks in advance. P.

Thanks for the reply but yes, that's been tried already.

I expect that the answer will be that it's not repairable without a reflash back to factory settings so I'm looking for a replacement S70/80 or 480.

I don't think it's software related, these devices USB connection can be broken by stopping appstartupsec.exe from running, but on your device it is running as it does connect, the device will normally reboot when it is disconnected, which leads me to think it's a socket or cable problem.
