Navman S70 3D - GWES.exe error

Postby KeyserUK » Sat Mar 16, 2013 8:07 pm

Hi

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum, if so can a mod please put it in the right one please?

A friend has a Navman S70 3D with the gwes.exe error on boot. There's lots of posts kicking around about people having the problem but it seems nobody lists the cure (other than send back to Navman). The S70 3D doesn't seem to have a direct factory reset button but I have seen posts eluding to a pin reset on the unit...does anyone have any info on how to do this reset or even get over the gwes.exe problem?

The unit will not allow USB access either, even on a PC installed with the original Navdesk software. Is there any way of getting to the disk?

It's an old unit but such a shame to bin it - I have revived my own S70 (non-3D) using IGO and it suits the Navman.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Keyser

gwes.exe is part of the windows ce core, an error here is not good, I would expect only a reflash will fix it, but I don't know if the firmware files are available.
