Unlock Navman iCN 520

Hi, I have managed to get an unlock zip file that unlocks an iCN 510, from a helpful member. However I do not want to pester him and wondered if anyone could help with unlocking my Navman iCN 520 with this zip file. I was advised that if I connect satnav to pc the device will recognise the unlock file ( rar file of iCN510.cab)and it will unlock automatically, however this hasn't happened. I get an error message "Cannot Install:SETUP or INSTALL Program filename contains folder information. Use Actions/Checkout instead."
I tried unzipping the rar file but again nothing happens there are lots of .dll files in there and a setup.xml file.
Does anyone know if the zip file has to be somewhere specific.
( I have also tried a completely different method with MioPocket but labelling the folder ' Navman_iCN_520' on the SD installation card didn't work either)
Anyone have any ideas??

I unlocked my rusty 520 quite simple a few years back.
_And I would not even consider using files for a 510 for the job.

Hi Downunder,
I installed the unlock and was left with a desktop blue screen with start button top left which does not respond on tapping.
On the desktop is the SmartST icon which when tapped starts the Navman software.
Any advice after that?
Is the device unlocked now?.. If so how do I now install the Primo software?

There is not much intalled on them apartfrom the GPS software.
But it is unlocked now.
All you need is to create a desktop shortcut for the programs you install, or check for CE menu to include a bunch of them.
There won't be anything happening if you tap on the blue screen - same like when you click with your mouse on the empty desptop of yor PC.

No, what I meant was that when I tap on the start button nothing happens..no drop down list no fileceman or anything.
Where would I put the Primo folder?

You will need the pointy stylus to operate the Windows screen, no finger is small enough for this
And if it is like mine was, you might have to tap slightly off the actual icon to make it register.
I guess they did not really consider that someone would want to use such a small touchscreen in Windows anway.
The folder placement is according to the normal Primo installation, the important thing to make it work is to either set Primo in the autostart instead of SmartSt or to make a new shortcut on the desktop.
There are tuts on the web for this stuff with CE, I can not remember all the details after all those years (old age I guess).
