Hi, I'm reasonably new to this forum so please bear with me if I'm a little naive at the moment.

I have a Garmin Smartdrive 61 (hw 2588) which my daughter brought back with her from Australia last week. Its obviously loaded with Australia and New Zealand maps (with lifetime updates), and we would like to be able to use it over here now. Is it possible to install (direct or with micro sd) the upto date UK and Ireland maps so she can use it over here ? Also with postcode search and junction view ?

I do hope someone can assist me, many thanks.

Hi Tony,
thanks for the HWID 2588,Your DriveSmart 61 will require Patching first to use Unlocked maps.

And then loading the Europe NTU maps on to a FAT32 formatted SD card.(The safest way for a beginner, if you stuff it up you can simply unplug the SD card & start again)
If you want All Europe just download everything in the first section of the link.

I easily patched the unit with the Universal Patcher, and then downloaded the maps etc from your link onto a sd card. Its all looking good so far, I've got a 200mile round trip coming up tomorrow so that will test it out then.

Just one thing - you suggest moving the database files into the SQlite folder within the unit, but where is this folder located ? I'm using a Win10 pc, with hidden files shown option enabled, to connect to the Garmin but I am unable to find this folder within the unit ?

Quick update.
I've managed to find the hidden SQlite folder within the Garmin. I used the hidden button on the volume control screen to access the diagnostic page and changed the MTP setting to Mass Storage. This opened up the full file system within the garmin so I quickly added the new database files to the SQlite folder as you suggested. I changed the MTP back to Auto afterwards to stop me messing further ( for the moment )

Further update.
All working perfectly. No problems what so ever. Accurate maps and excellent Lane guidance information.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 3790, I need the whole of Europe, what and how should I download and install, I would ask you for help?

I finally managed to transfer everything to the SD Card, the navigation shows that the maps are there, but it can't find the signal / satellite..

Replacing the map cannot stop a gps signal from being received. Even if you delete the internal maps it should still get a fix. Are you sure the unit was working before?

The RED indicator means weak signal NOT no signal, if this device has not received a satellite fix for a long while or has changed location while off ,it can take a while to get multiple satellite signals.(Green indicators) Leave it out side with a clear view of the sky for 20mins plugged in if necessary,

I am so confused.
My daughters United kingdom maps are years outdated & after reading through the forum im no further forward.
I have backed the Device up to the desktop, but and download the UK map

The maps i have downloaded are the "UK & ROI 388 MB from this page "maps"

Could i please get some help in how to update this to something more recent.
Im in England.
