I have updated them but it says the map was 1 year ago... but that is fine if no new updates yet...so happy to get an update after 10yrs...

Don't worry you have the latest maps now, that message is because you updated it manually ,not via Garmin Express.

Is there a walk through on how to add these maps to your device? I have started to follow the above guide on adding setting up folders on SD card and adding the downloaded map and JVC into said folder. What is the next step? I'm new to this all sorry. (I'm using a ZUMO 500) TIA

Please get used to using the "Thumbs Up" button.
Firstly make sure your device's software is fully up to date.

Try on A FAT32 formatted SDHC card (8GB>16GB) create a folder called Garmin place files as listed.
Garmin/gmapsupp.img
Garmin/gmapsup1.img

You might need to choose a regional map if you have a problem with file/SD card sizes

I've set up the folder as above but only gmasupp.img as I've only selected the seater EU download is this correct? I'm struggling on moving forward from this point, I can't find the maps in map install ive tried to unlock them but I'm stuck on the correct method to do this?:( Also ive attempted to just load the Zumo up with the new img on it but I'm still stuck with 2013 maps. Any help is greatly appreciated as I thought I was tech savvy but im lost

I've now managed to get the new map to show in basecamp but it is not showing in mapinstall, map source and Iwhen trying to use the send to device button it's saying there's no data? Where am i going wrong lol
