Thanks for the link.
I don't find my HWID.
My 700 is at software version 6.10.
-Can I install the patched 6.00?
-Will this be updated by Garmin Express?
-Can I install the original 6.00 ([Please Register or Login to download file] ... r__600.gcd)
-Will this be udated by Garmin Express?

Tbanks.

Very likely like all the latest devices the firmware is encrypted so cannot be patched to be able to use Unlocked maps.
If you want, make a copy of the garmindevice.xml and put it in [Please Register or Login to download file] I can check it for you.

Hi.
I'm new here and I don't know what and how with the programs here, etc., so please be understanding.

My uncle has a nuvi 3790 (it's not known whether it's version T or NTU). During the first update (after years), he wanted SD memory. We put it in. During the update, it broke down and the navigation with the SD card didn't work (it doesn't work on old, built-in maps). We formatted the card, but the Garmin Express program doesn't have a map management button and I can't do anything, that's why I found this forum. Can someone tell me how to upload the latest maps to the SD card so that everything works properly?

Current software version 5.1.0, and maps:
CN Europe NTU 2014.10.3D,
CN Europe NTU 2014.10

Could someone guide me?

Sorry for the language, I don't know English very well.

Is it still starting up , visible on a PC and does Garmin Express see it ? Were the updates for maps or Software.

The SD card should be formatted FAT 32,download and arrange and re name as the image below
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Current software version 5.1.0, and maps:
CN Europe NTU 2014.10.3D,
CN Europe NTU 2014.10

[Please Register or Login to download file] [Please Register or Login to download file]

The above shows it uses NTU maps and has the latest firmware.

[Please Register or Login to download file] to safely delete the old maps from the device.
If you want make a copy of the garmindevice.xml and put it into my [Please Register or Login to download file] then I see what is going on.

Navigation works, I just don't remember if "my maps" have all the ones they used to have, but it works. Garmin express sees the navigation, but doesn't see the SD card. There's also no map management option. The computer itself sees both the navigation and the SD card.

The first time I started Garmin express it showed that there were maps to update, but there was not enough space and we had to use SD. We put it in, started the update and left it for a while. After a while we came back and it supposedly updated, but after starting the navigation something went wrong (it was a long time ago and I don't remember exactly). Finally we formatted the SD card and the navigation started.

I have formatted the card in the appropriate format (FAT32). Where can I get these files (like you showed)? I found similar ones in the navigation, but not all of them. I uploaded copies of these files to the SD card, but it didn't help. The navigation doesn't indicate that it uses the SD card. Garmin express doesn't show it either, although it is visible in the options.

Unfortunately, I don't have this option :(

Do I have to remove old maps before uploading new ones? Where can I get the latest maps? I'm most interested in Poland, but all of Central Europe will do.

@tarzinio
This device does not have lifetime maps any more.

All the files you need to go on the SD card are in Post 1 or in the Torrent Post 8,
[Please Register or Login to download file]
delete all the old file on The SD card
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Arrange and re name the downloaded files as the image below
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Your uncles device is very full use JaVaWa Manager to safely delete the old maps from the device.

Re: City Navigator Europe NTU 2026.10 FID 12706

Postby Matrix44 » Wed Mar 19, 2025 5:13 pm

Hi, up until now I have been using a Garmin Nuvi 250W device to which I have been simply transferring NT maps either directly to the device or to an SD card.

Today I purchased the Gamin Drive 52 model because of the newer type of NTU maps. The device is licensed to update the Southern EU maps. These also updated to the latest 2026.10 when I connected to the Garmin Express app. When I connect the Garmin Drive 52 GPS to my PC, I can't see the maps on it like I did on my old Nuvi 250W. From the first post I downloaded the unlocked maps "EU NTU 2026.10 South IMG Unlocked (3.35 GB), EU NTU 2026.10 North IMG Unlocked (3.20 GB)"

Where do I copy them? How do I get rid of an installed map I don't need?

Thank you for your help.

Sorry for the English, but I use a translator to write.

Unfortunately your "New" device cannot use these Unlocked maps.
But Garmin did upgrade these regional devices to FULL Europe, you will need an SD card and most likely need to try Re-installing the update to get full Europe
Current Map Version: 2026.10 (Europe) as of January 29, 2025.
Effective with the 2025.20 map release, devices purchased with a map subscription for a specific Europe map region have been upgraded to the full Europe map at no additional charge. These regions are no longer available to download as a smaller subset, with the exception of the regions shown below.

Also effective with the 2025.20 map release is the addition of coverage for Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

During a map update, Garmin Express™ software may prompt you to use a memory card when there is not enough internal storage to install full coverage. We recommend that you use a compatible SD card to install the update.

When purchasing or receiving a map update, unless otherwise stated, the updates you receive under the subscription will update the same geographic area included with your Garmin product when originally purchased. In that case, some of the regions below may not be available since they include states, provinces, and/or areas that were not originally pre-loaded to your device. To see what mapping was preloaded on your device, go to the Support Center, and enter your Product Name or Serial Number. Once your device is selected, in the Search for a solution... box, type or copy in "What Maps are Preloaded on my Automotive Device?"

You can purchase maps for other countries for your compatible automotive device by visiting Garmin's Online Store.

Devices loaded with Europe full coverage will have the map displayed as two separate entries:

CN Europe NTU ALL North
CN Europe NTU ALL South
Other items that deliver features to your GPS navigator are included with either of the above files. Therefore, if you update Europe full coverage mapping, both files must be present and enabled with a checkmark on your GPS navigator for it to have full functionality.

Thank you for your reply. There is no problem for me to purchase a 16GB MicroSD card to expand the memory of the device.
Unfortunately today when updating the software and map I was not alerted to the option to update the EU map to all of Europe.
