Hi. I downloaded all MS 7 files, installed on pc and unlocked. Maps working fine. Not sure, though, what to do with the add.files. I downloaded the RAR file which contains a 2018.10 update but don't know where to extract its contents. My maps are in C:/Garmin/Maps/ and that's where I installed Europe 2018.10. Where should I install the additional files? And are they necessary? I have a Zumo 660 device to which I will transfer the Europe maps (on SD card) when I'm done with the MS installation. Thank you very much for your help with this.

The additional files are only for some new devices. I do not know if you have an old zumo or a new one just see what type of files exist on the device and copy the same types from the new map on it.

Okay, so as I understand, these additional files are not required for running the maps on MS but may be required for when the maps are to be transferred to a device. Is that correct? I have a Zumo 660 purchased some 2 years ago and I have a Zumo 500 purchased 10 years ago. The 500 definitely falls under the "old" category but I think the 660 falls under "new". I guess the only way to find out is to transfer the map onto both devices as is and then when I do visit Europe, see if it works. Thanks Kolokythas

Based on my experience, I loaded the maps on my PC for use with Mapsource using only Rars 1 to 7. I unlocked them and they're working fine. The additional files with the Windows installer that says "Update", I don't know where to load it or if there is even a need for it. I understand you'll need it only in case the maps don't work on your device

As i explained before you just copy the same type of files that already may exist on your device!
Connect your device with USB and see what is on it!

The Zumo 660 works well with NT Maps, not with NTU (also Zumo 500 as well)
The Thread you must look for is this: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=19857
The additional files you need for Zumo 660 are:
1) The Map obviously. Europe NT is still available as a single Map
2) the JCV full screen (LaneAssistFull All Europe D2504230A.JCV)
3) the 3DBuilding Map (gmap3d.img)
You need No other files
Hi
PS: to generate a Custom MapSet from the MapSource Version of the Map, always use MapInstall to do the job, NEVER MapSource as you can get some errors in calculating routes on device
