I am new here my device is Nuvi 255W and maps are outdated apparently, I need lasted updates of Maps in Egypt.
What files should i download? Unlocked img or north Europe or is there is something else?

Welcome to the forum,
I moved your Post as Egypt is not in Europe, but in both Africa & Asia.

Download the gmapprom.img for MENA 635 MB from Genius3's post above
or just Egypt 191 MB

Replacing the outdated map on your device storage the file name will need to be gmapprom.img & if you use an SD card gmapsupp.img in a folder called Garmin

Hello Guys, thank you so much for the maps.
however I have NUVI 1490, I downloaded the maps for the middle east, but now I need help please on how to install those maps on my micro sd card..
much appreciated..

BTW I downloaded the maps from 1 link as 1 file, I think was 920 Megs and then I downloaded the maps from other link and the were 13 files I think and each is about 100 Meg, so I can install those maps on my device or on my SD card.. please help..thx

Hi In the 3rd Post from above there is a link and below that link there is an Image that notes the SD card structure.

Genius3 Posted that.

check carefully as it might show as "Hide Spoiler" press that and it will show image.

so create a FAT32 SD card no larger than 8GB card for older Nuvi's and 32GB for newer Nvui's and palace files as per that structure noted.\


SD Card, Will be D: drive or E: drive etc.

Format SD card as FAT32

Name of Sd Card (any Name keep it short tho) i.e. “SD_CARD_MAPS”
Create folder “Garmin”
Create Folder “Map”
Create Folder “POI”
In Garmin Folder create extra folders called:
JCV
SID
SQLite
ASR
Place files xxx.jcv in JCV folder
Place files xxx.sid in SID folder
Place files xxx.db in SQLite folder
Place files xxx.img in MAP folder
Place files xxx.gpi in POI folder
Place files xxx.asr in POI folder

On a FAT 32 Formatted SD card arrange only the two files in the Garmin\JCV & Map folders & sub folder as shown below.

Safety Camera ,gpi files go in the POI folder on your device
