Yes it can work ,but you will need to find your HWID from your garmindevice.xml in the Garmin folder.
then search the Patching thread for the correct Patched firmware.

Sorry it's not possible to use these unlocked maps

For a few years newer device's firmware could be patched (determined by their HWID) to use unlocked maps, since the DriveSmart 65 the firmware has been encrypted on these later devices.
Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

I have a nuvi 2497lm, with lifetime updates for europe, i installed the base map and its working great, but i am a little confused with the additional files for tbe extra features, i am using an sd card. What should I do

Also i am confused about the gmap folder, what is it used for ? And should everything work by copying files manually or i need garmin express ? Since base map is already working, only missing junction views and drive lane assist and those advanced features.

The additional files are copied manually into the Garmin folder as below, if you are able the D3408270A.db file works better if you copy it into the SQLite folder on the device.
The map (gmapsupp.img) goes in a folder called Map.

The gmap folder is to be able to create custom map sets on a PC with Mapsource/Basecamp software.

hi there, many thanks for sharing the updated map. I want to install it on my nuvi 760 which already has the 2022 version. it is possible to just copy the file into the gps unit through pc cable or do I have to follow a specific process for the update?

The .img file on the GPS unit should be named gmapprom.img ,just change the name of this one and copy to the Garmin folder so it overwrites the 2022 one.

it works thank you so much. but now it is slower as it is loading the entire region. is there a possibility to have only Moroccan map?

Why not try the North Africa map already shared first, it's half the size of MENA

I have done it as suggested by renaming the old img doc and copying the new one. However, the nuvi is still showing both. Should I rather delete the old one?

Yes, that's what I would do.

Hi, I'm working with BMW Navigator VI & V.
I have the Navigator version with installed Map version Garmin with CN Europe NTU 2024.10 and now need North Africa maps & a detailed installation procedure and download links.
I tried installing it as was mentioned above, but I can not get N.A. Map updates through Garmin Express.
Even when I open the navigation menu inside Garmin setup / My Maps. It's shown CN North Africa NT 2023 but I can not search for any African city or country.

Please start using the "Thumbs Up" this shows us which post you downloaded from & is a basic courtesy .
If your devices have Lifetime map updates for Europe I would recommend using an SD card to add supplemental maps.
