If you want to have the map on your computer, you are correct, where they gmap with msi-installer includes BaseCamp/MapInstall (post #2 "lock ms"). MapSource is a fairly old program and not further more developed since 2010.

The gmapsupp.img is not for installation on computer but only for the device.

I have the NorthAmerica 2014 map image. Is there anyplace to download the 3d and jcv files as well? I need to put these maps on a Nuvi765T. Or am I missing something obvious?

How to replace internal files in new advance series: 24x5 25xx 27x7 34xx 35xx & Dezl 760
-download &copy files on external storage (usb hard drive or memory card)
-Reboot your computer with LINUX (ubuntu)
-connect Nuvi and open nuvi drive. press ctrl-h to see hidden files /.system will appear like magic then delete and replace files from external usb drive.

Hi: I downloaded the 4 parts listed in post #2 - lock ms and unzipped. Normally there would be and executable file with the extension .msi so I could open it in Mapsource but it do not exist. Would someone please tell me how I open this in Mapsource? Thanks

I have this map and have a question. When I zoom in in Basecamp it looks like the map has a crude basemap superimposed on the better 2014 map. It looks right on the gps. It is a little confusing at times. I have made sure that it is the only map being displayed at the time. Is this normal because none of my other maps have done this?
