Using a kenwood dnx995s, when I try to load any unlocked garmin map, it doesn't show up.
If I use an openstreet map, it Does show up. I tried using gmaptool to change the FID and PID of the unlocked garmin map to match the openstreetmap settings, but it still didn't show up. Any other suggestions?

I am not an expert of kenwood dnx995s but for sure is not just enough to change the FID and PID it seams that you need to unlock maps and patch firmware

I have tried a few unlocked maps, as well as unlocking myself, they don't show up as an choice in the head unit. I don't think I can patch the firmware, my unit doesn't have the mini usb port in the back that some are able to connect directly and modify/replace files. I tried connecting my laptop directly to one of the USB ports meant for media, but it didn't let me view the headunit on the laptop.

For UK users, you'll have a run around trying to get to download these maps, as I did. You'll need to VPN from a different country.
I googled zippyshare and for some reason...... "Popular file-hosting service Zippyshare is unavailable throughout the UK. Contrary to widespread rumors, ISPs are not responsible for the 'blockade.' Instead, it appears that Zippyshare...."
So no joy on a uk ip address. I vpn'd from the Netherlands and Zippyshare was incredibly fast.

Is there a magnet link for the 2020.20 gmap folder (i.e. the full set of files from which both larger and samller .img files can be generated with basecamp etc)? There is a magnet link for 2020.10, but I've not found one for the 2020.20.

The links posted for part 1 to part 4 RAR files contain the map version 2016.10
This is probably some sort of scam.

Welcome to the forum, thank you for reporting it as "Bogus. Poster is a liar." I would suggest the issue is on your end as many have thanked and I have just downloaded my own post to check.
If you need help just ask, that's the whole idea of a forum, a collective of knowledge, shared ideas & solutions.
Use the latest Winrar to extract the files

I apologize. I should have looked more carefully to details.
I now realize that the 2016.10 map is the one from the internal memory of my nuvi 260W.
I also have a 2018.10 mapsupp.img which, after I properly re-inserted the SD, it was listed.
I am now re-downloading the rar files, to try again to update my device.
Sorry for my mistake.
do you know if this is unlocked?
I am continuing my learning process. I downloaded gimgun. I hope that is the tool that I can (and I should have done that the first time) use.
Thx

Yes you will have to use Gimgun just drag & Drop the gmapsupp.img onto gimgunlock-0.04.exe Icon.
Your device does not use any other file except gmapsupp.img

I put the map file in the same folder.
Then I used the terminal window as admin and navigated to that folder and ran this cmd: gimgunlock-0.04.exe gmapsupp.img
After that, some lines came up in terminal window. I am just copying a few from the last ones:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Skipping map signature of subfile I19531A0.GMP
Skipping plain subfile I1953166.GMP
Skipping map signature of subfile I1953166.GMP

Skipping plain subfile BASECAMP.TDB

Skipping plain subfile CNNANT_2.SRT
Skipping plain subfile 00008033.MD2
Skipping plain subfile CNNANT_2.SID

Not sure if this is good or not.
It works. I was an idiot.
I apologize again.
And thank you!

The map is working great... Thanks!
However, the Junction file is not working on my nuvi 1490 LT.

That's because it is not for your device.
added D3153300A(480 x 270).rar for nuvi 13xx, 14xx to Post # 1

I only want to use the CN NA 2020.20 maps for BaseCamp. I cannot get it to recognize the gmapsupp.img file I downloaded from this thread and put in ProgramData\Garmin\Maps. Is there a version of the new maps that I can download that will work with BaseCamp?

BaseCamp should recognise the map image (gmapsupp.img) if you put it on a SD card or USB drive in a folder called Garmin

Wow, I didn't know it would be that simple. I put the .img file in a Garmin folder on a USB flash drive and BaseCamp read it just fine. I'll just keep that flash drive in place so it will always be available to BaseCamp.
