Is the gmapdem.img file available for City Navigator North America NT 2021.10 ?

The DEM file has not changed since 2010 that's why it does not get shared every update ,as obviously terrain does not change as much as infrastructure.

Hi. It's been a few years since I've tried to install maps on my Zumo. I have downloaded the maps folder but mapsource cannot find them to send to my device. How do I get the maps to my device?

Second, I've looked for gmapsupp.img but it is not available on this forum. Can I take a gmapprom.img and simply rename it so I can use it on my sd card?

Tx m8. I downloaded it, renamed it to gmapsupp.img, placed it in a garmin folder on the SD card. Worked slick.Tx. Worked like a charm Cheers

Yes just rename the file to gmapsupp.img and it should work. I am still trying to download said file to see if it works with my gps however seems to be a slow download.

I have a version of 2021.10 on my nuvi that is incompatible with my in-dash navigation system, this should help with correcting that immensely!

Does one of the file downloads contain the gmaptz.img file?
I'm trying to see if I can repair my in-dash GPS week rollover time/date malfunction at the same time the map updates. Thanks again!

I was given a Garmin W255 a short time ago but it did not have a SD card or a cable to connect to the computer. I'm super short on funds and wondering, since I have a SD card and a cable if its worth it to try and update and use or buy another GPS. I have downloaded the 4 part files located at new-maps/city-navigator-north-america-2020-fid-8033-t21333.html#p174259, but I don't know exactly where to put them on my 16 mb SD card. I have read through several steps online for the 355 but it seems that half way through it switches to another GPS unit (Montana 680). I have downloaded and unzipped files CN North America NT 2020.30 Lower 49.parts 1-4 and have also downloaded the following tools: Garmin Express 7.0.0.0, POI Loader for Windows, Ver. 2.7.3.

I'm not sure where to go or what to do from here to update this GPS and get it working. I'm an old fart and not the greatest with computing skills but willing to try anything.

OK I'm going to assume this is a nuvi 255W & you didn't see the latest maps available here?
Your device is perfectly fine especially with a widescreen & is worth updating.

All you need to do is download & unpack gmapprom change the name to gmapsupp & place in a folder called Garmin on your FAT 32 formatted 16GB SD card.

Please note the nüvi 255W needs firmware (software) version 5.10 or later in order to recognise files > 2GB. Version 2021.10 of CN NAM NT measures 3.00 GB. Latest software version for your device (version 7.80) can be installed by using Garmin Express (freely available through the Garmin website).

Do I just need to rename the 2021_10.gmap file to gmapsupp???

What are you trying to achieve & on what device
The Gmap folder is what goes on your PC to use with Mapsource or Basecamp ,normally just copied to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps
gmapsupp & gmapprom go on to a device or SD card,but this depends on the device.

Im trying to update to the latest maps for my Kenwood/Garmin in dash Din. DNX691HD. right now it has the old 2014 map. The file is called gmapsupp on the micro SD card.

Did you export device information to SD card to see the file gmapsupp as there should be more files than just that one?

So I downloaded the info off of the Garmin. I unzipped it all to a file folder. There are lots of files in there> So how do I install the map file from above for North America that I downloaded from the link. Garmin wants $100.00 for their map ! Thats insane !!
I did this before and don't remember it being this difficult. Maybe I need another whiskey....
