I have a folder labeled Garmin on the sd card. On the card I have the lower 49 NE maps labeled gmapsupp. The jvc file is labeled D3836310A.jcv. Do I need to rename them? I have 3, a 40 a 50 and a old 255. The 255 is the easy one and done! That one was always easy, I don't know if I have bad sd cards on the other 2 or what I'm doing wrong.

You have an SD card that you know works on your nuvi 255, just create a folder called Map & move the gmapsupp.img to it ,then test on your nuvi 40 & 50 this will confirm if your other 2 are faulty SD cards. Once tested move gmapsupp.img back to the Garmin folder for the nuvi 255.
nuvi 3x,4x & 5x
SD Card:\Map\gmapsupp.img
SD Card:\Garmin\JCV\D3836310A.jcv
nuvi 2xx
SD Card:\Garmin\gmapsupp.img

OK. are the 2 Micro SD cards formatted FAT 32,what size are they, without you telling us what you have tried or screenshots it is difficult to see what is going on.

For clarity the nuvi 40 & 50 have Lifetime maps for Lower 49 or not?

Finishing up trouble shooting. You won't believe the results. I hope you post a big sticky after I give the results. I had an extra 8 gig full size sd card for the 255. I burned the downloaded image on to it, worked just like the other. So I knew the image unlocked was good. Now I'm just piecing out what went wrong and why.

I just tossed 5 out of 8 SD cards. The full size 8 gig cards worked perfect, but only fit in the 255. The others were the mini micro sd cards. Don't assume because you can reformat a card, it's good. Windows 10 is not set up to format any card fat 32 unless it's 32 gig or smaller. If you need to format a sd card for garmin over 32 gig there's a free program [Please Register or Login to download file] . I think I was fighting bad sd cards all along. I was use to doing the unlocked image file on the 255 but when I got the nuvi 50, got lazy. 4 out of the 5 sd cards allowed me to download the files to the card, but the garmin would not read the card for some reason. Never assume your sd card is good. Most of my sd card were bought from, China. For the amount of time this took, for the money you saved, you figure it out. I'm not done. Garmin pretty much said pound sand. I'm no where near done figuring this out, other than what I put, I have a 64 gig card I know is good, I can load the image and the jcv file on it, put it in and it works, but if I try and use express the 64 gig card isn't supported. I've been here for years, normally pretty straight forward. I didn't get what was going wrong so I posted. I got the answers. The hard way. I'll order more sd cards and post back, and sure as hell donate! Any links to Garmin Jetmouse Keygen 1.9, or what ever is used now? I need to catch up. Loads of thanks to GarmanNuvi for getting me where I need to go!

This is so screwed up the way the device processes maps. Lower 49 east, doesn't find squat. West, yes. Full lower 49, tried one device, works fine 3 new sd card coming.

First confirm your HWID is 2267 from the device garmindevice.xml

<Model><PartNumber>006-B2267-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>590</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>Drive 50</Description></Model>

Only then can you use the Patch kit to enable your device to use unlocked maps.

SD Card formatted FAT 32 8Gb-32Gb is the safest option as if a file gets corrupted during the process you can eject the card and start again,on the device it takes a whole recovery process to Unbrick it.

Hello again
I have not received my Nuvi 2595 yet but have prepared an SD card as GarminNuvi explained for NA and I have a few questions about the file/folder tree as shown above for NA
1/re. the NA map ; one of the downloads above was ASR 2.0 - do I still call the folder ASR , not ASR 2.0 , on the SD card?
Also I created the System Vol Info folder which is empty - does it populate when inserted into the nuvi?
2/ If I want to use other maps in future , do I just use the same folder tree as above for all maps ie
On SD Card ; Folder "Garmin" - with ASR + JCV + SID + SQLite folders inside
Folder "Map"
Folder "System Volume Information"
Are additional features sometimes offered with other maps that I should also install if they are available?
Thanks

Apologies but not being familiar with Garmin maps yet I have a question
I looked at other map downloads and for example the NA lower 49 is just an img file , so if I wanted to use this instead of the full NA FID9147 map above , would I just replace the "full NA9147.img" with the "lower 49 .img" file in the Map folder but leave all the other folders/files as is on the SD card?
Or is there another answer
thanks

There is only 850mb difference between L49 & N America, so why bother when you are using an SD card. Regional maps like L49 are normally installed on budget devices ,so Garmin can keep the price point as low as possible by using a smaller internal storage. They also have their own regional additional files.

Hi
I have a few questions about using the maps available on this site with my new Nuvi 2595
For convenience I would like to install the NA map and the Europe map on my SD card which does have the space.
So, do you just place , for example , the .img files from both maps into the map folder ,JCV files from both maps into /JCV etc and will the device recognise both maps as separate entities and just use the files it needs for the selected map?
Or do you have to somehow put both maps into separate folders with different names?
Also , I notice the EU map comes with Parkopaedia and DEM .img files ; I have learned what they are and the DEM file seems a useful thing to have. Do you just copy these into the map folder and the device will then offer elevation info on the maps?
thanks

Thanks a lot for posting these maps, I really appreciate it.
Question: does anyone know where I could find a "Canada & US(49)" map without Mexico and Alaska?
