I dont remember having the Basic 3D file installed last time so
Do I need this file if I have the 2 other NA maps available?
If I use either of the NA maps I tick them but do I need to tick the 3D map as well?
Thanks

Your device does not use 3D Building View, delete it, it's only taking up space.

This is the layout & files for your device on an SD card ,The highlighted SQLite files work better if placed in the SQLite folder on the device.

I have an update to my post

Thanks for your patience GN!

I have checked the file tree on my device SD card and changed it to match the file tree you posted

1/ 10 files selected out of 15 files from ASR2.0 ( and no ASR1.0 files)
2/JCV OK
3/SID files - 7 files selected from SID and SID Nuvi3490 - I have no .gma files ( do these populate when loading maps?)
4/SQLite - 2 files selected - I have no SQLite folder on my device ; do I create one?

So I just played with the sim on mode and all seems OK with US maps - is there a way to increase the sim speed
to reduce the time needed to check the route? Just wondered

Your device only uses ASR 2.0 the other 5 files are for FourSquare & Parkopedia which your device does not have
2/JCV OK
3/SID files - 7 files selected from SID and SID Nuvi3490 - I have no .gma files ( do these populate when loading maps?)

sorry I should have removed the .gma files they are created with .unl file on original maps, not needed on Unlocked maps
4/SQLite - 2 files selected - I have no SQLite folder on my device ; do I create one?

the SQLite folder is in the .system folder
The .system folder is a hidden folder so set your PC to show system , hidden folders & file extensions .

Not on your device, you can touch the direction arrow that will take you to the next turn/direction

Thanks again for the replies

re 3/ So I dont need the .gma or .unl files , correct?

re 4/ The SQLite files!! OK so I know my way around a PC and had all the options selected to see hidden files
but still no .system visible!
A quick search revealed the problem - switching from MTP to Mass Storage and BINGO .system is visible!
Can I leave in Mass Storage mode with no impact on performance?
Do I just copy the 2 SQLite files into .system/SQLite folder and delete nothing in there?

re. Sim Mode - that tip is useful ; if going 100mi before next turn your tip is better than speeding up the sim!
Cheers

No, the Maps are already Unlocked in a different way.

You can leave it in MSM if you want ,but as you know now how to switch modes its your choice.
Yes just copy the two files don't delete anything.

You can use the SD card to re-install the original maps (out of date) then just check what files are used on those and download the later versions & substitute.
I would use US & Canada

Thks to GN for tips on adding favourites ; I am guilty of the "I'm a male and dont need the manual" attitude
So I have added favourites for a trip and have a question ; after finding a spot on the map and saving it ,
do I have to click back about 8 times to get back to the main menu and edit the name to something meaningful?
I cant seem to edit the saved name without going back to the favourites list which takes about 8 clicks which feels
very longwinded
Is there a way to go from any random page you are on to go straight back to main menu screen?
thanks

If all else fails use the manual.

City Navigator North America NT 2024.20 FID 12140 is out so should be shared soon ,but don't hold your breath waiting for a torrent as most that share upload to free host providers which doesn't rely on people seeding.
