City Navigator North America 2025.10 gmap

Re: City Navigator North America 2025.10 gmap

Postby burtomr » Mon Apr 22, 2024 4:09 pm

Ok, I downloaded Mapsource. Created C:\ProgramData\Garmin\\Maps (my Win10 sees ProgramData and Program Files as the same thing). I then loaded the whole City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap folder into it. Then ran the Unlock app.

When I open Mapsource I hit File>Open. It takes me to a browse window. I locate City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap in the Garmin\Maps folder. Browser then shows 2 folders: CNNANT_2025_10_mdr and Product1. Neither folder or its contents does anything like read or load: "No items match your search".

So back to my question: How do I read/load City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap into Mapsouce?

Thank you for your help!

After you "Unpack the archive ,copy the whole City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap folder to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps & ran the MapsourceUnlock program it's installed ,It should now be in the dropdown list.

I downloaded the files, but Winrar reported corrupt img files. What am I doing wrong? :022:

Ok, I have now followed your instructions with (2) different systems: Win11 and Win7:
I copied City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap and the Unlocked Image files, North America by reyhu (Thank you) and MapSource v.6.16.3 + Patched to a thumb drive.

Win11 computer:
I installed the thumb drive files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Maps. Ran the Unlock program in the City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap folder. Then launched Mapsource 6.16.3. No Maps show up automatically. When I try to browse to either of the map folders using File>Open it also does not read or load them.

Switching to the Win7 computer:
I installed the thumb drive files into the existing C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps folder. Then following the same steps as above, but again no maps are read or loaded into the Mapsource program.

In my opinion some very important step is missing from my attempts to read or load the map files. Can anyone please review my steps and diagnose what I am missing/doing wrong?

Thank you!

Well, since so far no one will explain how to load City Navigator North America 2025.10 gmap into Mapsource, I would like to request (aka beg) for a kind person who knows how, to create USA East and West maps for my Nuvi 350 which has a 2MB size limit per map.

Not exactly true , Mapsource is installed to your PC. not a thumb drive and the City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap folder is copied to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps. That's not what path you said you did.

Try installing Mapsource to your PC then try using the Microsoft Installer (MSI) when asked for the path write C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps

No West or East split under 2Gb as the Lower 49 has increased infrastructure etc. it is now split into 4 map sets

I have a Nuvi350 also and it will not support any maps later than 2022.25 because Garmin began using lower case fonts beginning with 2023.1 and the firmware on the 350 cannot process the font. If you need a 2022.25 map, PM me.

Hi, can I use unlocked maps (either unlocked img or via Mapsource) on my newly bought Map 67i?
Thank you so much.

Thank you so much.

Not these maps ,Try Open Source Maps
A quick search using "GPSMAP 67" would have found this.

Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,53,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 ,GPSMAP 67 & 67i are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

Does this mean that my map 67i won't be able to install these unlocked maps for a while? Will I have to choose to pay a high price for maps from Gamin?
Is there any other way to install unlocked maps?
Thanks a lot!

The link above for the ASR files appear to be for the newer style ASR2 files.
I may be wrong about this if Garmin made a major change in the makeup of these files.

Does anyone perhaps have access to the older style ASR1 files?

Thanks
