But when using mapinstll program to install it , I clicked the area on the map , it has error said can't find the mdr file in the directory. The file is in the folder, but the program can't find it . I didn't continue.

The City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2025_10.gmap folder must normally be in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps

Hello, I have a 205 & a 255W Nuvi Garmin(s)... i was wondering...
can I split the map into multiple smaller maps on the same micro sd card?... In other words... 1 map for all of Canada & Alaska, another map for the US, and then a 3rd map for Mexico and the Bahamas? If so, how would I name the multiple maps so my garmin could read them?... I haven't been able to figure out with an older Garmin if or how it can hold multiple maps on a micro sd card or not... thank you all for any and all help.

For what it's worth... The map works great with the older Garmins!!

as someone else had mentioned... once you download the map, extract the map folder, and then run the Unlocker included in the folder [run as admin],... once the unlocker has finished...you'll want to place the Garmin map into:
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps.

THEN.... open Basecamp and click on the MAPS tab, and then select the map you want to work with.

With these older devices for maps on SD card try gmapsupp.img & gmapsup1.img in the Garmin folder. You can only use 2 maps simultaneously, but you can have multiple maps on the SD card with other names MEX & BAH for example and change the name when you need to use them .
Have a look in your garmindevice.xml
<Location>
<Path>Garmin</Path>
<BaseName>gmapsupp</BaseName>
<FileExtension>img</FileExtension>
</Location>
<TransferDirection>InputOutput</TransferDirection>
</File>
</DataType>
<DataType>
<Name>SupplementalMaps1</Name>
<File>
<Specification>
<Identifier>IMG</Identifier>
</Specification>
<Location>
<Path>Garmin</Path>
<BaseName>gmapsup1</BaseName>
<FileExtension>img</FileExtension>
</Location>

Thank you for all your help… however I am a tad confused…
When adding multiple maps on a micro sd card and naming them like you had mentioned,
Gmapsupp and gmapsupp1… could I add a third mad as gmapsupp2 and so on to the micro sd card?
Also, how do I open an .xml file?

Thank you again for all your help :) :)

Use Note Pad or even Microsoft Edge to view the garmindevice.xml.
You have 2 different devices ,looking in the garmindevice.xml will show you what can be used ,the example in the spoiler shows gmapsupp.img & gmapsup1.img only but some will only show gmapsupp.img that is the limit you cannot add gmapsup2.img gmapsup3.img etc.

It's been a long while since I've done this. I used to have no issue, mostly used torrents then copied the .img onto micro-SD card in garmin. I have no clue how to do this now. Can't get anything to actually finish downloading. I'm on a Mac, if that makes a difference. Please, how am I doing this without paying for Mega?

Try installing Mapsource to your PC then try using the Microsoft Installer (MSI) when asked for the path write C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

FYI the nuvi1350 which was released in 2010 does not support maps newer than 2022.25

No street name display issue seen on the nuvi 13xx-14xx with North America installed, only on some very early devices.

Good day....

Trying to use gmap tool and get this 2025.10 to work for Mapsource (installing via the .bat).

I'm using the .IMG file (thanks to THEOB), and it's doing okay for Mexico and Canada (I get maps that are usable), but North America just gives me a grey image in Mapsource (which is the background of Mapsource). I can find the map image as an off white section labeled with "Map created with..... mapper.com" and it's only visible at 1000mi up. Nothing more. Once I try to zoom in, it just goes away.

I even tried to combine the two img files to see if I could make one to load into mapsource via gmap tool, but it errors out when trying to split the one file due to an error with one file (can't remember which one... but thinking it was 12328.MDR file) and being the same in both Can/Mex and US IMG files.

I'd love a working North America and Mexico IMG file if I could be so bold. :024:

Any other IMG file to grab to try??

EDIT: I see there's a Southern and Mexico file... I'm trying it now (from another site).

Thank you for your help in making this possible. Is there a way a torrent can be made for this to alleviate 77 downloads? Thanks again. :023:

Hi, I'm trying to download the file that's linked in the first post on page 1. After I click on the link I can find three download options: Download as a ZIP file, download with MEGA Desktop App, and Standard download. All three options trigger a popup window that tells me I don't have the MEGA Desktop App and asks if I want to install it. I'd rather not install it, but I don't see how to bypass the installation. Is there a way to download the file without installing the MEGA Desktop App? If not, what does this app do? Thanks.
