Good idea ... I have tried but in the maps that are suggested to be installed... the French does not appears...
there is something wrong somewhere.. don't know where

That means that the map is not installed in the PC but just recognised by Basecamp from the Sd card on the device just rename it as i said in gmapsupp.img

It is already gmapsupp.img
I did a name modification than went back to the gmapsupp.img.
no way.. nothing works on the GPS

I guess you refer to my Map France+Corsica.
In the Garmin folder you can have 1 Map only (gmapsupp.img), on some devices you can have a second Map named as gmapsup1.img.
Almost all of the newer devices accept a folder \Map with as many Maps as you want inside, named as you like.
Another method is to join the 2 Maps together using GmapTool.
In case of Outdoor devices (like your GPSMAP 64) you can put as many Maps as you want inside folder \Garmin

it works now... it should have worked before. I tried a new SD card and with this new one it was fine.

Hi!

1.) Nuvi 57 supports NTU (U = Unicode), and not NT maps.

2.) Nuvi 57 contains MSV protection (MSV = strong software protection), so it does not read unlocked / pirate maps.
In order for the device to see unlocked maps, you need to repair its software. This work is dangerous because you can destroy the device.

gmapsupp.img = Map of Europe
Copy the map on SD card 4GB into Garmin\ folder.
(If the folder does not exist, create it yourself manually)

Now there is no the split screen JCV for City Navigator Europe NT version, only for NTU one.
But each JCV works only with its own version of the map.

As just indicated, NT Maps uses Full Screen JCV, Split Screen are for NTU Maps.
You can use the JCV FULL SCREEN (D3084210A.jcv), in the first page or whenever you find a valid link.
