NTU maps do not work on the 250W - use the NT maps instead - new-maps/garmin-city-navigator-europe-2022-fid-8929-t22633.html

You can make your own map easily use Garmin Mapinstall and the gmap folder from that thread

I have put it on my SD\.System\JCV in my nuvi 1490.

Is the JCV version compatible with my nuvi?

In my GarminDevice.XML other JCV filenames are mentioned

So I can ignore, that other JCV file name are mentioned in my GarminDevice.XML?
What are the entries used for?

How can I check, of the JCV is correctly loaded?
Use in simulation mode to test

In maps info menu of my nuvi it is not shown...
Junction views are NOT maps

Hi team,
Sorry for the silly question... I am new to the forum with an old Garmin nuvi 275T (maybe 14 years old device). It's been sitting for a long time in my drawer but I wanted to bring it to life and update the old maps (US and especially the EU maps which are at least 11 years old).
It currently has on device memory:
- gmapprom.img
- gmapprom1.img
I don't know which one is which, but in my map list I see:
CN Europe NT 2011.32
CN North America NT 2011.30
I downloaded the "Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2022.10" file but I do not have a clue what to do next.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Does this map work on my old device?
2. How do I update it?
3. Can I also update the US map?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome. Using the "Thumbs up" button on the post you downloaded from would help us help you.
If you use the program [Please Register or Login to download file] device manager you will be able to see what the old maps showing in your device are and remove them safely
The map size for both Europe & N.America have increased significantly in 14 years so the use of an SD card 32Gb maximum will be needed.
Make sure your device's software etc is up to date using Garmin Express.
On a FAT 32 formatted SD card create a folder named Garmin place the two .img for Europe you downloaded in the new Garmin folder rename them gmapsup1.img & gmapsupp.img.
If we know how much memory is left on the device its self after you clean up the old maps it might be possible to use it too. Your device is only capable of using 2 supplemental .img files at a time, as Europe is 2 already you either have to have 2 SD cards 1 for Europe & 1 for N.America or choose a between East or West Europe & N.America on 1 SD card

Thanks GarmanNuvi - added thumbs up for both original post and your post.
Since I only need West EU for my future trips I copied only that IMG file to the SD and renamed it to gmapsupp.img.
It now shows on my device!
As for the US map - is there a similar download I can obtain?
And BTW yes, I've updated to software with Garmin Express before getting here, hoping it would let me also update the maps but it asked for money so that's how I got to this forum.
Thanks again!

Download the N.American maps from the link below, rename the .img file to gmapsup1.img & copy to the Garmin folder on the SD card.
new-maps/garmin-city-navigator-north-america-2023-fid-9397-t22727.html

The final update is the Safety Camera data, just copy the .gpi files to the POI folder on the device, if not present create it. Garmin/POI

You must simulate a route to see if it is working or not. Try some motorway junctions etc as not all junctions may be shown.

Thank you very much.

You will find your nuvi 775 won't have enough space for the current whole of Europe, most just use an SD card to accommodate the files totalling just over 7Gb.
Post # 1 has what you need.
