I have a nuvi 2200. After reading all your posts, I'm still not understanding what map should I put in my device and what are the instructions for it. Sorry, I'm kind of new on this thing.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forum, I've moved your post to the latest thread for Europe maps for your device.
You you need to decide if you update the old maps on the device with a regional map or use an SD card with All of Europe

So I was finally able to put it on my nuviCam and I dont get 'cannot unlock maps' anymore. However is it normal when I look on my device my map list list my North American maps but under the European maps its
-CN EUROPE NTU 2022.10 Milano East, Italia, Milano West, Italia, Roma Wes
and
-CN Europe NTU 2022.10 Tirane, Shqiperia, Andorra La Vella, Andorra, Graz
Does that mean I dont have Germany, France and Poland? How can I tell?

Thing is when i put my gps in simulation mode I dont see addresses in Europe.

Looks like you left "Auto name the map set" checked in Mapsource/Basecamp ,you can name the Map set yourself .

I gave you a list of files and their layout for your nuviCam on a SD card ,just download these from Post #1 instead of trying to create a map set yourself that does not include the additional files.

The problem is I dont understand what you are telling me to do. Do I simply put these files on my SD card? Do I unpack them there? You gave me a list of layout. Do I unpack it and match and copy it and then put it on SD card? i literally have no clue what i am doing :( Appreciate you helping

The pdf file shows the layout of where the files go on your sd card. You will need to create the folders and put the files in their relevant folders. Its recommended to put the sqlite files in the sqlite folder in the device itself rather than the sd card. Also you will need to rename one of the IMG files.

hi,
I am new to the website, could you please let me know which files should work with my garmin which is nuvi 2597.
Thanks in advance.
Edit : Do I need to unlock/Patch my device in any sense (reading through vast articles and discussions). How can I verify if the device already has not been unlocked ?

So I am new to this but I believe you unlock SD card and or maps and not your actual device. This is what GarmanNuvi recommended to me and it worked:
Have you Patched your device to use unlocked maps yet?

Welcome to the forum.
Your device will give you an error if it has not been patched when using unlocked maps.In your Garmin folder open the garmindevice.xml and check what HWID number you have.
<PartNumber>006-B2077-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>880</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2597</Description>

Do you get this message if you remove the SD card ?
What shows up in MyMaps with and without the SD card in. Use screen shots
Maybe one of 4.img files on the SD card in the Map folder D4935220A.img, D6210180A.img, gmapdem.img ,gmapsupp.img is still locked, you can use Gimgun to unlock them. Just drag & drop .img onto gimgunlock-0.04.exe Icon/File
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Thanks for your support.

1. I have followed the directory structure provided and arranged the files in the same folder structure. My GPS device was not showing the maps. Then I moved the .img files outside the "Map" folder (thats how it was with other img files) and then it started appearing in the device. ( I am not getting any visible error on the device, the Maps are shown in the my maps options and I can check and uncheck them)

2. My HWID is 1582. But if I am guessing right, it seems that the device is working with the files I got from this thread, Do I still follow the other thread and Patch the device or I can skip that (may be it is already patched).

3. I have now below in my card. Do I need to use any other files from this thread ? (Edit, The spacing does not work well, so used --> for child folders)
Garmin/
--> ASR/ contains files from ASR 2.0(8296)
--> JCV/ contains files from JCV (212 x 234) PhotoReal)
--> SID/ contains files from SID Europe NTU 2022.10 Traffic Trends
--> SQLite/ contains files from SQLite(8296) )
--> *.img files gmap3d, gmapprom(8296) North, D6210180A(8296) South

4. I have also pasted the SQlite files under the .system/SQlite folder on the device, the same is also avaiable on the sd card as above, Will that be any problem ? Do I need to keep it on dvice only ?

I tried to find option to attach the files on this thread but did not manage to do that so tried to explain things as clear as I can, Let me know If I should provide some more information.

Your Device is a Nuvì 2xx7 or 2xx8. Such a device doesn't need any Firmware patch to read Unlocked Maps.
Your Error is in positioning IMG Maps:
gmapprom.img (North) MUST copied in \.System folder (internal memory) or \Map folder on external SD
D6210180A.img (South) MUST copied in \Map folder (either internal or external memory)
Furthermore, your Device doesn't manage gmap3d.img (that anyway must be placed close to gmapprom.img) nor the ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) files
:lol:

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying. I have some further doubts now.

1. As I mentioned, I am not seeing any error in the device and I am also able to see the list of all maps in my maps option and able to check / uncheck them. When the img files were placed under /Garmin/Map/ folder then the device was not showing the maps name at all in my maps option. Could you clarify on what do you mean by ERROR in positioning as when i move the files as suggested by you, it does not show in the gps.

2. I have life time maps for North America which I would like to retain as well. I can see there is already a file named gmapprom.img under my .system folder. Would it impact my life time updates if I overwrite that file with the one from this thread ?
