You need to install the map and unlock it

Apologies for asking ... but how do I 'install the map and unlock it' ?
I am using an iMac- does this have to be done on a Windows PC? as I am unable to find the folder C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps and will Unlock Mapsource.exe work on Mac OS?

Use a Windows PC. While you can use mapinstall on a mac you cant run the map unlocker (unlockmapsource). Also the map installers are for Windows.

You can use IMG files found in the first post of this thread and copy them directly to your device or SD card.

Where should I copy the "Additional Files"? to the sd card under the garmin directory?

So I actually purchased SD card with these European maps off Garmin website. Do I simply insert it into my nuviCam? Or do I have to do anything else? The reason Ive purchased it is because I couldnt make files from here work last year when I went to Poland. eiather It didnt work or maps showed up without any detail or path was off as in I was showing I was driving parallel to the the road I need to be on. I unfortunately have to make another Euro trip and I would like my garmin to work this time around. I hated to rely on my cellphone all the time.

Is it possible to get only the ASR files?
this to enable the voice orders like "find place" on drivesmart 61 SE (regional south).

Because I downloaded the file in first post, but seems there are no the additionnal file folder (with asr, sid, ...)

I bought a drivesmart 61 LMT-S, but unfortunetly, it seems it is only a SE southern europe version (am not sure yet) because only the basic voice command orders are available, like :
show map, volume, brightness, ...

but I had seen it could before buying it should be able to understand full adress to go with these voice orders :
find place, find adress, ...

and unfortunetly these last ones are not available into the gps

=> So any tips to get the extended voice orders capabilities ?
or must I patch the whole gps like I have seen in the forum post, then download full europe map

Did you Patch your device as you were shown last year ?

I see you are asking the same question elsewhere as clavadys.
Can you see the contents of the .system folder on your device ? as this is where the ASR etc would be ,as Butters a highly respected member says this restriction might be built in to your regional device.
Did you install the language files using Web Updater & Garmin Express ,that adds the Voice command files for the specific language chosen.

yes restriction is into my device, because there is no ASR folder at all at origin.
even in garmindevice.xml no asr

I already downloaded the garminexpress language files to try
but the little window webupdater never appear in my case (with speech recognition data list) as you show in you image

Web Updater is another Garmin program, the image is a combination of Garmin Express and WebUpdater programs,

On investigation I see the Southern Europe DS61 does not include the ASR files.I also see that the Map Southern Europe is not the same as All South .
I recommend as you have already patched your device is to use an SD card with all the files required for all of Europe as listed below>9Gb

Your device does not have enough space to put both S & N map files and all the additional files as it only has a 8Gb internal memory.
You don't say which language but here is all available srd files, put all in the ASR folder

Until we can duplicate everything that is on a Full Europe DS 61 device and most probably use Clear all user data and reset the Locale we'll not know if the full Voice command functions become available.

thanks i put the extra fr_FR.srd in ASR folder, seeing device is set into fr local and am in france
-> but unfortunetly, using wake up vocal command still not show all the voice orders

it seems nobody tried to extend the recognition voice feature on a european regional drivesmart before, all my web searches unsuccessful,
strange because it is why I bought a garmin model, I think it is a very useful feature anyway (even if I bought the wrong one)
