Now I want to insert all maps .img (East and West) to my external card.

How I can do it? Because the maps has the same name.

On your DriveSmart 50 you can change the names of the maps to any unique name like EUN.img & EUS.img North & South, not (East and West) that is NT maps

Hey all! What a nice site this was, well a question, been on my Garmin Drive 61 all day. I bought it second hand and then noticed that there were only USA maps in it and I live in Sweden, northern Europe. No matter how hard I try, I can't get it to work. I've tried every way except the right one... Need help, probably needs to be patched? How do I do them? Here is the info:

Edit : Got it working, had trouble patching the device but it was because I used too big of an SD card, tried a 32GB and it worked. Many thanks, amazing what knowledge there is out there.

Yes it does need Patching to use Unlocked maps .
The post you "Thanked" you know the maps are locked ?,so they will need to be Unlocked first or use the Unlocked maps from the torrent.
The simplest & safest way is to use an SD card 8GB-32GB ,leave the device alone with the US maps.

Welcome to the forum, I moved your post to the correct Thread for EU maps for your device.
You will need a FAT 32 SD card 8GB >32GB as the whole of Europe is going to be too big for your device memory.

Hi!

I'm a bit Confused as I have a newer model (Drive 40) as the primary navigator. It has the lifetime updates for the maps.

But as the secondary navigator, I have Nüvi 205, now with new battery and charger. I had been using it with unlocked Europe City Navs, the last being from 2017 that is a little bit too old. I have not found newer just-upload-then-use edition like in the old days.

The thing I now made with MapInstall, was, that I took wanted region from the Drive 40 map (CT NVGTR WSTRN EUR 2023.20) that is installed on my computer also, that is, I only need Finland for now. So I got that about 200 mb file to my card. Then I put it into Nüvi, and as expected, it didn't work. I think the map is locked. Is there any reasonable (not hassling with multiple software) way to unlock it or is the way to go just to hunt newer already unlocked img for the Nüvi. I'd want to scream that I have only bit under 4 Gb card, so I must use like only Nordic countries maps on the card!!!

Garmin Image Unlock - gimgunlock v.0.04 is drag & drop.
BUT your nüvi 205 does not use the NTU maps your modern device uses,it uses NT maps for Europe and there is what you need available to download, maybe you will need to get a bigger SD card .

What you have downloaded is the file to use these maps on a PC.
Also your nuvi 1390 is not compatible with NTU maps but is with NT .
There are a few options ready to download in the correct thread
