Garmin City Navigator Europe NTU 2025.10 FID 12306

Hello, I've just joined. I'm touring in Europe in an old car which won't have built in GPS, so I've dragged out my old Garmin Nuvi 2597 from what must be at least 10 years ago. It has North America built in, but I bought the CN Navigator Europe years ago and version 2020.is 10 on the SD.

Garmin Express remembers me and, since I'm in North America, it will allow me to upgrade the NA maps. But I can't seem to get it to upgrade Europe.

I gather the Torrent file can help with the latest version - I have it coming in at present. But what do I do with the file once it downloads? Can anybody suggest a link to install instructions?

Welcome to the forum.
Your device will need to be Patched to use Unlocked maps.
Check your HWID in your garmindevice.xml then search here

After Patching
On a Fat 32 formatted SD card place the files as below,rename the two .img files so they are unique .

Torrents don't work like that ,no files have been deleted. Share a screen shot so we can see & help you.

Hello everyone,
I have a Drive 40 lmt, with maps of central Europe.
When I connect it to Garmin express, it only offers to restore only those maps.
Can I change maps? I need maps of Eastern Europe...
But it doesn't offer it in the menu...

Can it be changed?

Hello guys and thanks for the upload of 2025.10. Still i am still using mapsource and i have forgotten where to put an unlocked map in the program source. If anyone can help.

Not the unlocked map, MapSource uses the gmap folder, download unpack & copy the City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2025_10.gmap to
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps

FYI ProgramData is a hidden folder

Hi there. I downloaded the torrent and got a folder titled "City Navigator Europe NTU 2025.10". Inside there are folders "Additional Files", "Cure", "PC Install unlocked" and "Unlocked IMG".
I just inherited a Nuvi 2789LMT with US maps.
I want to make this usable in Europe and the US.
I've read as much as I could here and everywhere but I do not know how to proceed.
If anyone can point to an idiots guide that would be great.
I am not familiar with anything Garmin nor files, but can catch up quickly if the direction is clear.

Using search with Nuvi 2789 brings up 2 posts in Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices as your device needs to be Patched before it can use Unlocked maps.Post in that thread your HWID contained in the garmindevice.xml then we can go from there.
