You can use mapsoure and select some country and make a west europa or east europa map.
if no, you can put Sd card and Make folder called Garmin on SD root then put x.img inside.

1. You will need a SD card at least 4GB. Format it using FAT32. Create a folder on it named "Garmin".
2. Place the gmapsupp.img (listed as IMG UNL above) and gmap3d.img (listed as 3D UNL above) in that folder.
3. In "Garmin" folder create 2 subfolders: name one "JCV" and the other "ASR".
4. Place *.JCV file (listed as JCV above) in the "JCV" folder and place *.ASR and *.SRX files (listed as ASR 3x90 above) in the "ASR" folder.

Folder structure should look like that:

/Garmin/gmap3d.img
/Garmin/gmapsupp.img
/Garmin/ASR/<filename>.ASR
/Garmin/ASR/<filename>.SRX
/Garmin/JCV/<filename>.JCV

where to put .g2s and .sid files...in what folder???

I down loaded the img unl 4 parts and extracted to the gmapsupp.img. Made folder called garmin put inside the folder on a 4gig sd card. I have the garmin 760 and it will not see the map. I currently have the 2014 map on an sd card that works but this 2015.30 map will not.

Also a friend of mine tried on his garmin and same will not see the map in the info area on the device.

Is there something else needed to be done for this to work.

thanks

This is great. I've got the img from post #3 on my 1490 SD card and it's working a treat. I just got done downloading the JCV and SID files (also from post #3). After extraction there is a bunch of folders. My question is do I simply copy the folders into a 'JCV' folder and an 'SID' folder or do I have to copy the files into the root of said 'jcv' and 'sid' folders? how can I confirm it worked?

Thanks in advance!

Been looking at the file and folder structure on my Nuvi 750T.
Dont see ASR or SID files/folders anywhere. Nor do I see any SRX files.

I do have the gmapprom.img the jvc and 3d files in the proper folders (these are the ones that came with my Nuvi).
Do I really need the others?

This may come off as a silly question but how does the CN North America 2015 NT compare to the Lower 49 as seen here:

I am working with a Nuvi 260 and a Nuvi 660. With previous map updates (maybe up to 2013.xx or so, can't be sure) I was able to simply put a gmapsupp.img file into the /Garmin/ folder on a 4 Gbyte SDHC card and the updated map file would be recognized. Lately, however, this technique does not work, the gmapsupp.img file is not recognized and the only usable maps were the ones in the internal memory.

I have since the tried the map files (.img, .JCV, .ASR), organized into folders and put on a 4 GByte SDHC card as described above (I could not find any .SRX file), but still no joy. Since one of the responders to this thread said it worked on his Nuvi 265, I'm assuming that it should also work on the Nuvi 260. The 4 GByte SDHC card is good, since photos placed on it are displayed on the screens.

Any clues what's going on here? I suspect cockpit error on my part, but at my age the mind is the 2nd thing to go, and I forget what the 1st thing is. Thanks for any help.
