Yes. The nuvi 6x0 series can read IMG files up to 2 GiB in size (i.e. limit of 2,147,483,647 bytes) and the East USA/CAN map posted is stated to be only 1.66 GB.

Is there really a way to update your maps for free?

That's because there are newer available
When looking for the latest maps start in Garmin ‹ New Maps the latest are made "sticky"at the top of the page

Welcome, which **** links ,there are a lot .I just tested the USA Link from Post #1 and it works fine
BUT ,why not try the Latest version North America 2022.20

The .img file, as correctly placed in the "Garmin" folder on my USB drive can be read in my Wrangler, but will not update (getting the "PND Did Not Update" message). I keep getting a Garmin-specific incompatibility message before that, however. Any thoughts?
