I want to modify my GPSMap 66s to accept the latest TOPO France V6.
I find this in Garmin device.xml

I already changed the codes with Imgpool 65001 around 1252. This works for the South part but not for the North part)

When You unlock the North part en change CP in 1252 it had to work in your gps. Double check?
By the way: softwareversion 2.50 is very old (01feb19), latest one is 10.30

I just did the update on the site, but the last one he finds is 10.20

Okee, You are right, 10.20 is the latest. There is a 10.30 but that is a Not Published, Factory installed production release only (info GPSrChive).
Last year I used the Northern part on my 66s when I was in France, but I must say I have a patched version of 10.20 on my 66s. Maybe that is the solution.
Yust put the Northern part on my gps, and I can see the map (unlocked, CP 65001 and patched software).

s it possible to find the answer key somewhere and an explanatory tutorial because I can’t find anything about it.

Simplify: download patched version and put this file on your gps (internal memory) in the map Garmin with the name GUPDATE.GCD After that disconnect your gps and start up again without connection to a computer. Follow the instruction on your gps.
