Many thanks to darren666 for providing these files. I do, however, have one problem and would like to know if anyone has experienced it. I have unlocked the 12 img files and changed the code page to 1252 before copying to an SD card and placing it in my Montana 610 (old enough to not needing a firmware patch). 11 maps are visible and enabled but that for East Anglia is not detected by the Montana and of course no map is visible for that part of the country. Unfortunately I am a frequent visitor to this region so this is somewhat of a problem for me.

I have tried downloading, decoding, unlocking and changing code page several times but always with the same result. The process proceeds without any visible difference from that for the other 11 img files which do work and there are no obvious errors. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can someone who is using this in a GPS check that they have the East Anglia tile (i.e. does it appear in the list of available maps in the Select Map setting).

Just to add to my earlier question about the East Anglian tile, to my surprise, it does work in Basecamp. That is, when I connect the Montana GPS via USB I can see all 12 img tiles and they all work, including the East Anglia tile. So the map data appears to be correct but the Montana just does not see the tile. This is beyond by skill level and I hope someone with a greater understanding of Garmin maps might be able to offer an explanation/solution.

My original question remains - can anyone using this GB Topo v3 distribution on a Garmin handheld, see the East Anglian tile?

Quite possible you have reached the maximum .img files or tiles your device is designed for, try substituting one for another to prove it.
(You could just change the extension name temporally) .

Update - and solution

Well I can not explain why, but copying exactly the same files to another SD card (same make and size) has solved the problem! Now all the files are visible on the Montana 610 and the East Anglia map appears in the map settings. This is beyond my understanding but I am delighted that it is (at last) working. I then formatted the original problematic SD card and recopied the files and lo and behold, it worked!

Now I just have to decide if the updated map is worth the more blurred images. A moot point for me but I can always revert to version 2 if necessary.
Many thanks to GarmanNuvi for thinking about the problem and replying. Appreciated.
