I am struggling to make this map work. I will outline the steps I have taken so you can tear my process to shreds.
I download the files. Unzipped them. Placed the .IMG and SQL on an SD card in a folder 'Garmin'. Did not work
I used GMapTool to add the Pr to 006-D2257-03. Still did not work.
I used Gimgunlock on the IMG. and re-wrote the Pr to 006-D2257-03. Still did not work.
Always trying to load onto an SD card with the folder 'Garmin'. The map does however work in Basecamp. Just not on my GPS unit.
I am using a firmwared patched etrek 20x.
Anyone have any suggestions please and thank you.

A few have mentioned changing the code from 65001 to 1252 works

Would I have to split the single .IMG file first before I edit them? So far I have only been editing the single .IMG.
I have GMapTools but am not very knowledgeable with it yet. When I try to use the write function to 'correct the TYP' (the only place I can see CP under the write option) the map still does not work.
Should I be editing the file on my computer and then sending it to my SD or should I be editing the file on the SD card?

Hi ! i managed to download it onto basecamp, but on my fenix 6 it doesnt work... it gives me the "impossible to authenticate" error message...any help?
I have changed CP and Product number as per the above messages but still no result (i have changed these details on my laptop and then put in the device).
Welcome to the forum,
Not all devices are able to use unlocked maps, some require patched firmware to use Unlocked maps. The Firmware Fenix6Pro_6ProSolar_1110.gcd is not being recognised by the Firmware Patcher ,so unfortunately it looks like your device is unable to use Unlocked maps at this time.

You probably need to patch the firmware to accept unlock maps. Have a read of this thread

Does this map happen to have DEM? Digital Elevation file? Or is it 2D only?

Thank you you are all correct I must have done something wrong with GMapTool. My first install was 2D only somehow but I re-installed it and it does indeed have a 3D option.
Thanks for all your help.
