Mauritius and San Francisco unlock

Postby fvandewouwer » Tue Aug 20, 2024 11:53 am

Hello everyone, it has been a while but finally I am able to go on holiday again and I am still using mapsourse or basecamp to put maps into my
nuvi a very old device of 2014 but it still working with my Europe updated maps.

I would love to have a map from Mauritius and one of Californie ( Los Angeles and surroundings )

because it has been a very long time since I put any maps into this nuvi it would be pleasant ro receive a map that can be loaded into mapsource or basecamp so I can select the map and transfer using mapinstall

it there anyone who can help me putting these files for download ( ready for mapinstall )

thank you so much for your reply

So, I think your Nuvi 2599 use NTU Maps, but maybe you need to flash the firmware to read unlock maps.
For the Mauritius, you can find free maps there : [Please Register or Login to download file]

Kind regards

the easiest for California would be OpenStreetMaps, a collection of free Garmin maps.
e.g. from alternativaslibres:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Scroll down till 'USA: California', then select 'OSM base map', and 'file for GPS' : [Please Register or Login to download file]

The OSM maps, as well as the Mauritius map above, are Free maps. No unlock necessary --> no flash of the firmware necessary.
hope this is helpful.

Here are the maps you asked for.
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

You will have to check your garmindevice.xml to find your HWID
<PartNumber>006-BHWID-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>880</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2599</Description>
Then go to software/universal-firmware-patcher-for-protected-garmin-devices-t17987.html to find the correct Patch
Before you post, "The archive is corrupt or damaged"
Please make sure your archive software is up to date or just Use the latest [Please Register or Login to download file]
