Maps are identical in content. And firmware from Garmin are different, and some models can't display all of the elements and no common standard. For example, oregon no matter what map FID, it would have the same draw, but etrex 20 with FID 3332 will not display all of the elements needed for a FID 4594.

Really? If maps are equal what is the matter device for FID? Nowaday it is only the one reason for marketing purpose! In one device it is preprogrammed the one FID and in the other (especially SD card) the another. It is all!

At initial time the Navcom experimented with FID but now you can not see any difference.

P.S. You must know a situation with CityNav Russia and predecessor Dorogi Rossii. It is the same map by and large but old devices were discontinued in update. It is profitable, is not it?!
