I'm looking for adding this Israel map to an old Garmin NUVI (February 2009) with a Europe map. May you guide me on the how to?

What diffrence between the Locked and the UnLocked map?
Do I have juste copying that new map as is? Or do I have to rename it? Is anywhere a serial number?
And finally, how to update the NUVI system as well as the Europe map?

What nuvi model do you have? Does it have a slot for SD/µSD card?
Do you want to replace european map or use Israel map as additional map?

Locked maps are the original versions, that has to be unlocked by unlock code or unlocker program, like gimgunlock (recommended), fast image unlocker or unlocker alternative (see programs section).

First you can update device software by using Garmin WebUpdater (downloadable @ garmin.com for free).

My PNA GPS is a NUVI 765, with 4GB internal memory which contain the prog and maps. There is also a slot for SD card which is free.
I want to use Israel map as additional map.

I couldn't download this TOPO map. I tried all this afternoon without success. A mirror link will be welcome.

On the other hand, I did downloaded the UnLocked_Israel_2013_30.img from "City Navigator Israel NT 2013.30" thread, and copied it to \Garmin folder (with all other gmapxxxx.img files), tested it without success. My NUVI doesn't recognize the Israel map. I even rename it to gmapsupp.img, still it's not recognized.
What goes wrong?

Finally I got success downloading TOPO Israel V2.01.
I renamed the Unlocked map to gmapsupp.img and copied it to /Garmin folder... It works like a charm

However, what if I want adding another new map, what I have to rename it?

If you read the thread carefully, you will find out, that all nuvi models with 3-figure type name accept minimally this:
Internal memory
\Garmin\gmapbmap.img - basemap (don't delete)
\Garmin\gmapprom.img - preinstalled detail map, mostly City Navigator NT - can be replaced by new version
\Garmin\gmapsupp.img - supplemental detail map

SD-Card
\Garmin\gmapsupp.img - supplemental detail map

Sometimes in internal memory are also usable gmapprom1.img, gmapoem.img or gmapsup2.img, but this is different at various models.

Note: file names and folders on Garmin devices are not case sensitive - capitalization is not necessary!
