Not sure whether this is relevant on this site , but here goes!
My son in law is looking for a Truck Sat Nav and I noticed there are some Garmin ones (Garmin Dezi 560 LMT) .
I say Garmin as I've had one and downloaded maps etc off here and familiar with the software etc.
Have a few questions?
Can the above sat nav be firmware patched as other Garmin devices?

I'm guessing I may not be the only one but here goes. I recently uploaded new maps on my Garmin Nuvi58. All seemed to go well. Garmin Express says the maps are there. However, when I turn on my Nuvi58 I'm greeted by "Detailed maps are required for routing. No detailed maps found on this device", Screen then changes to "Cannot unlock maps". some models before the Garmin Drive 51 automatically refreshed the "custom points of interest" page every X seconds showing each time the four points closest to the real position. the "51" does not refresh always showing the same ones present when the page was opened. is it possible to have this function also on the 51?

I have a Nuvi 250 without a USB port, it only has the power supply (it was definitely modified due to a broken USB socket), it has a slot for an SD card.
QUESTION: should I use it as a card holder or is it possible to make updates via USB??

Hi guys… for a long time I did not need to show the maps loaded in the GPS (GPSMap 78sc) in BaseCamp. I am absolutely sure that in the past I was able to see them.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300 and have updated the UK map using OpenMapChest and Garmin BaseCamp, as both are free.

I notice that searching by postcode is now missing (?).

Selecting WhereTo - Search Address, yields 'Spell City' and 'Search All', neither of which find a post code. Locale and language set to UK.

Entering a street number, name and city yields multiple results (as there a multiple streets with the same name), ...

I have a 4 year old 66ST and I suspect the batteries are getting worn out. I want to replace the Garmin battery pack with off the shelf new batteries. I realize that the 'pack' of batteries are designed with the sleeve around them so that the button in the unit is pressed to allow charging while in the unit.
