[Solved] Nuvi 2340 new maps on SD card

Hi everyone,

I have an old nuvi 2340 which is still working well, but i want to update the maps on it.

I have already downloaded the new maps from the forum. When I add a small part of the map with "MapInstall" software in the internal memory, everything works fine. But I don't have a lot of available internal memory (0.5GB).

- How can I delete the old map from 2012 ? "MapInstall" software ...

Add map to Garmin Drive 51

Hello all,

Apologies if this has already been covered. I've spent the better part of 2 days trying to figure this out by searching the forums and internet for a solution, but I'm still lost.

I received a Garmin Drive 51 for Christmas, however I live in Italy, and it came with only the UK map installed. I have downloaded SW EU NT(8356).rar from the forums here, and extracted the gmapprom.img. I have all Garmin ...

It is attached to the PC board when you open up the back half of the GPS. The screws which attach the back half screw into it keeping the GPS tightly closed. Link to a photo of the part ...

Etrex 30x startup screen backlight

I have added a personal message to the startup screen showing my name & phone number if found. The problem is that the screen remains too dark to read the message until the device has fully booted when the message is visible for a fraction of a second.

Is there a hack to make the startup screen illuminate whilst the device is booting?

Zumo Splash Screen

Unlike previous Zumo models, it's not officially possible to change the Splash Screen at startup on the Zumo 590 and 595. However, since different Splash Screens DO exist (eg: BMW, Harley Davidson, Touratech have different splash screens from the standard Garmin one) if we knew where these were located, perhaps it would be possible to change them.

When I updated a Harley Davidson 590 to the Garmin 595 firmware (there is no HD version of ...

Montana 700, Anyone Else Got One?

Hello All,

Just acquired one of these, the new Montana 700 which is the basic, non 'in-reach' included unit.
So far seems ok, though it was a little expensive, around $1100 AUD to get the unit and mounting cradle.
Bit disappointing to learn if I want to be able to use AA batteries like in the Montana 610 and GpsMap 276CX I have to spend even more money to buy the adaptor thingo for it, ...

zumo 590 upgrade to zumo 595

Hello everyone,

Newbie here, so apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge and stupidity!

I have a Zumo 590, Branded as "Harley-Davidson Roadtech". It turns out, unknown to me when I bought it, that it's a Dealer Demo version. That means no pre-installed maps (and thus no lifetime updates) and only 4GB RAM (Garmin's own 590 has 16GB, standard HD version has 8GB.)

I want to use the whole of Western Europe region maps, ...
