I would like to plan road and offroad (4x4)trips in Europe and others. Also hiking in France, Spain,...
So, i'll ask my questions in a telegraphical style :
- how to download maps and install them on my device ?
- wich type of file must i download ?
- wich software do i have to use to ...

I know you shouldn't ask two questions at once as you'll probably get the answer to the one less important but here goes.

1) In a Nuvi 255w, can I sanitize the Voice directory and get rid of Ancient Aramaic, Middle Kingdom hieroglyphic (modern) etc. to save space and just keep the language I am interested in? I assume that will speed it up and also free up oodles of space.

I have tried every way (I think), but I can't find a way to retrieve Lat and Long after I save it. For instance, once I have a location, and want to give it to a friend, I can't get it. What am I missing?

I am new to this forum. I have a problem where IGO maps are not available for my country only Garmin. I have a Dynavin D95 unit running WinCE 6.0 in my car that came with IGO on a SD card. Can anyone help with regards to having Garmin running on my unit.

I have a Garmin Oregon 550 and for my birthday my girlfriend bought me (hunting GPS maps) on SD CARD for it...does anyone know how I can copy the SD card to a larger memory SD card so that i can run a couple different mapping programs from the GPS rather then having to switch out cards every-time i need a different one ? i already tried copying and pasting from the original to another ...

have been a Tom Tom user. Just purchased a 1350 LMT. How does one get an alternate route on the garmin. TomTom offers this feature but I can't seem to find out the info via searches and manual. Is it feasible and if so how to do it? thanxs in advance for responses.:scratch_one-s_head_

i was just curious when i tether my gpsmap 60 64 to my laptop , the pc does not recognize anything is connected ... i tether my nuvi 1490 with no troubles...
also could i delete the base map of it and run a topo map as base map i have a few different topo maps i would like to run
